do u guys get the slow moving thing when ur inside the trailer? After every single race he enters the trailer to select more races then goes out again and then u choose the car and then it loads. The the race takes maybe 2 mins and then the long loading again.
@ death samurai, go here and grab the updated drivers: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU41-Hotfix-to-improve-Dirt2-performance.aspx
not bad... but i find it overrated, maybe because i am running it in DX 9... anyway bring on HD 5750... god help me... or maybe it's the excitement for the F1 2010... the thing is i am not as impressed, i can compare it to Shift on rally roads and that is about it
Used my voucher this morning, it immediately started downloading. Funny, 'cause it showed nothing in the games list. Once it was finished I launched the game from the install directory, as Jonas said. (dirt2.exe, the one with no icon.) ..Using the shortcut only launched steam, not the game. (I'll assume because it's not in the list.) So, I guess it's safe to assume that if you have a voucher, you can download and play the game, regardless of your location.
So you cant get dx11 working with 9.10's? I guess I have to install the hotfix drivers or wait till 9.12's. Just I like how etw and other games are running on the 9.10's. I checked in the xml document and dx11 high was set to true.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F1_2010_(video_game) next year of course.... using the EGO engine and suporting DX 11, and their goal is to make it a simulator AND and arcade, so you get two in one
this game rocks!! I'm having such a blast lol, I couldn't say that about NFS Shift though.. night races are simply amazing, shadows, lightning and smoke plus reflections in water are just:gape:
where can I get the modified XML file that lets you have all the DX11 effect instead of DX9 how the **** did they remove DX10.... &^%$&*%^&*#%^$*&#%
The what...? The only way to get any, nevermind all the DX11 effects would be with a DX11 card. They never removed DX10, they just never implemented it.
yeah i feel the same, while the handling / controls with shift sucks for me , i find dirt2 quite entertaining. + ive played it with a m8 online yesterday, man it was hilarious. i kept pussing him off a cliff haha
Just the tesselation really, all the other stuff was disabled on purpose on non DX11 hardware as can be seen by modifying the configs to enable ultra. Same as it was with all the DX10 games (crysis for eg). Same old ****.
I personally can see no differnce modifying the config files, i initially did, then i noticed the game looked slightly different each race, and the benchmark wasn't fixed, so performance would naturally vary. I'm hoping this game and DX11 offers more than just tessellation, but it does appear like history is repeating itselfuke2:
