Well, right now it makes sense as the HD48xx's are pocket the rockets and thats where the fast buck is going to be made.

hmmmm NV could be in for even harder times than I thought.

I mean some executives may need to take less than $100,000 bonus this year.

    Poor guys

nvidia can only blame themselves. They slacked off big time after the 8800 series and allowed ATI to catch up.

Why is it that these companies ALWAYS screw themselves. I dont get it. They KNOW the legal ramifications of their actions and still do it anyway. It only hurts them in the end.

Wait, so Gainward has abandoned nVidia too? I knew they've started making ATI cards, but I didn't know they've broken up with nVidia. Oh well, nVidia can only thank themselves for this.

Did any of you read the original source from the Inq? It states that these deals have NOT been made with ATI.

If it IS Intel however, it will instantly give them some serious credibility. EVGA and XFX have always tended more towards the overclocker and enthusiast (especially EVGA who allow RMA's even after replacing the stock coolers).

It's an absolutely orgasmic thought! They're step up program, warranty and RMA service is pretty much the best available, if they started to produce ATI cards i'd pay the premium without a doubt.....

But will it happen? I dunno, but the rest of you should all go by 4800's to tempt 'em more. :p

Evga making ati cards? wow first time its gonna happen with them fars I know. 4870X4 would be something but you would need a cooler so massive thats out of this world.

Intel has been quietly trying to manufacture a GPU of their own that would include all the bells and whistles that the big two have. Maybe they have their first two board partners.
Until I see it officially announced, I'm taking this with a grain of salt.

    Also possible but unlikely:

S3 could have created a GPU that we can actually start taking seriously.

Or Matrox may have decided to try to make another move toward desktop gaming graphics.

Until we see more information, all we can do is guess.
