There is something else here with your setup. Crossfire works excellent for me since beta day 1.

Try one of the 12.1 drivers so you can create your own crossfire profile.

Guys do you even read my posts? when i add diablo III.exe in the ccc and deactivate crossfire the game dont start.

with dual gpu cards like 6990 or 4870x2 oder 5970 there is no Crossfire Menu in the ccc. With the 11.12 driver you can edit the profile for applications for ypurself but the game wont start for me because of this fail launcher -.-

Are you trying with the 11.12 drivers, or with the 12.1 drivers?

With the 12.1 drivers, you can change the crossfire mode.. not necessarily disable crossfire.. I am not telling you to disable crossfire.

    why would I do that?

I'm staying with 11.11C because everything is working well.

If you had bothered to look in the atiumdag.dll you would see there is a Crossfire profile for diablo III*.exe which has been there for lots of months. That file is where DX9 profiles are in the driver.

You don't get a key, especially if you have a high end GPU, that's how it works.

Now we know it: Release is in less then 2 month.

Still no official CF Profile in sight. Nvidia just gave out a new driver for d3 (the 3rd one for this game now)

i can smell it that amd dont give out a profile before release...

atleast we can force the game to only use 1 gpu (use window mode) and then its fine

driver: 12.2/3 whql from 14th march

btw a friend owns 2*7970 and has the same crazy stutters as with my 6990 - he has also tried different drivers and the only fix is to disable crossfire (atleast he can disable one and play in fullscreen while multigpus like 6990 it doesnt work - we have to play in window mode or create a own profile - which also doesnt work in d3 lol)

The bug you are talking about - jerky framerate in Diablo 3 - has NOTHING to do with ATI drivers.

its a known bug. Blizzard has acknowledged it and is finally working on it (6 months late)

Blizzard has finally acknowledged the issue of in game stuttering. hopefully a fix soon

The game client will lag slightly when it is loading new assets for the first time. This is not Battle.net lag, but your game trying to load assets that it has already loaded."

i doubt crossfire will work for diablo3. when u go to the catalyst creators twitter u get the sad feeling he is the only guy amd hired for their entire driver development team. cost saving measure? although he does state he is a diehard metallica fan..... ok all hope lost now.

I can confirm it first hand since I had the beta for a long time. The game fails anyway.

so one month to go and no profile in sight

in the new CAP they added Max Payne 3 Crossfire Profile (the game comes out in june^^)

i think we have to play in window mode for the first month :nerd: :puke2:

His point was you don't need Crossfire to play Blizzards titles anyway. There is no demand from the engines as they are CPU bound mostly.

If a single GPU plays the game fine, Then just use a single GPU on the game. All is well.

Also to those refusing to update drivers. That is your own decision and loss. Catalyst 12.1 and above allow you to create your own Crossfire Profiles.

    what he said

i have an older rig with geforce 7800gs and it plays d3 beta just fine. but tbh, crossfire for that game is total overkill.
