That's weird The game runs on the RE:Engine which supports 21:9 (RE:7 and RE:2 Remake)
I agreed. Game run extremely well and look amazing! I hope Capcom don't nerf the graphic cuz BUNCH of low end system setup crybabies on Steam. I'm running the game on RTX 2070 @ 3440x1440, super smooth, no stutter on cutscene or anything...knock on the wood.. . The whole time, it look like full motion video. Digital foundry did a great job on comparing DmC5 to Final Fantasy Advent Children movie. Game sure progressed a lot.
And yes, I agreed and disappointed that no native 21:9. Capcom, plz fix! <3 Other than that, DmC5 is currently the most impressive looking game for 2019 for me. I don't own Metro Exodus till next year on steam. Can't comment on that one.
I loled ;D
I await a new HDD with 256mb cache to enjoy some gaming and purchase this gem. (I ditched my old ones with 64mb cache for recycling). I have the whole collection and I love the series overall. It seems like a dope once again!
Unlock is in a few hours!
Apparently capcom goofed up and a denuvo free exe was leaked. People claim as much as 20fps difference between retail and the denuvo free exe. Take it fwiw. I was more interested in a cpu usage graph in those shots but the increased gpu usage and frametime numbers could also point to it.
Over 88k concurrent players on steam right now. Damn.
So how is the game with keyboard & mouse? I recall DMC being decent in that aspect. Or is this a "You should only play this with a controller " scenario?
Allright, spontaneous buy of the year. Had lots of fun so far, boy this game runs and looks great on PC
More info about the Denuvo free version and FPS gains.
Seems you can just update right through Steam and test it out yourself.
When the game already runs at over 150fps at Ultra 1440p is another 6-10fps really going to make a difference?
I have capped the fps to 90fps and it has not moved from that spot, not even in cutscenes.
Also, I don't seem to notice any increased CPU usage, the game only really uses 4-6 cores and mostly they stay around 50-60% load with the rest of my 2700X cores sitting at around 5-10% load, and temps are fine around 45C while playing the game on an AIO.
GPU usage when the fps is uncapped is pegged at 98-99% and when I cap the fps the GPU usage is around 40-60% give or take depending on the scene being rendered.
Finally some proper next-gen GFX, Capcom outdone them self with this engine.
That Van scene was dope, and characters in general so detailed, wow!
better than Metro Exodus? Because that game looks insane with RTX on. BTW, I've only ever played DMC4 and it was an amazing game. Might just get this.
I hated DMC4 when it made you replay the whole game again.
Also, Metro Exodus is a great looking game for sure. However, it has its draw backs. The game is more about atmosphere and tension than anything else, and it nails it brilliantly. But as for performance, character animations, facial rendering, and overall sheen... DMC5 blows it out the water. The faces are seriously something to behold.
Just look at this.
As for RTX in Metro, it can honestly F OFF. I hate the fact that it even exists. It doesn't look that great, it DESTROYS performance to the point its not even funny.
Its a tech for Nvidia to swing their balls around saying "we did it first"..... Well, sure you did it first, but you also did it poorly and released a tech that is NOT ready for mainstream yet, heck its not even ready for enthusiasts.
Go watch Gamers Nexus video on Unreal Engine 4 adding RTX support, they do a great job of showing just how poor RTX currently is.
SPOILER: they actually use old techniques to create FAKE ray tracing on static objects and it looks identical to RTX but performs 10x better.
What cpc_RedDawn said,
Metro is ok, it has its moments, but DMC5 is something else, cut-scenes are brilliant - It looks like CGI animated type of gfx.
thats what I saw in the above video, I don't have the game yet.
Sh*t, is that an actual face from a cutscene? That's incredible. Based on how much you guys say it looks incredible and how much I loved DMC4, this is a must buy for me.
Love it so far. Only issue is the major stutters in the cutscenes. It's so bad I hear them talk 2 seconds before they actually start talking.
This is on a Ryzen 1600 and a 1060 with 16g ram system mem. Haven't tried to "fix" it yet. This is my sons PC. I'm guessing the porn slows it down.
Game is on SSD?
got to say... I'm a bit shocked how well it runs, those cutscenes looks so damn perfect.
Shame youtube disabled the 4K viewing options on my past stream, don't know what went on.
Its a must having it on a SSD or you get some serious stutter.
It depends on hdd. High quality hard disk drives with 256mb or 512mb cache are averaging easily at 200mbps read/write or even more and they are quite smooth players nowadays. They are also improved.
