I remember the day when virtually every AAA title had a demo, and one could both rent games from the video store and lend out your copy to a friend. It must have KILLED AAA publishers bottom line back then!

 

Every time you played a demo, a dev slept hungry that night.

 

Demos where the reason why I DIDNT just download games back then to see if i liked them. All this DRM crap is gona drive me away from PC gameing as my dominated gaming means I been slowly moving back to console game soley cause i dont want to deal with DRM crap, despited the fact, 1080p60fps still a pipe dream alot console games are still 30 fps

 

Good, now crackers can focus their efforts on VMPROTECT. Ubisoft don't deserve a single cent for their crap software

 

I have so many cd cases filled with playstation demo's that come with playstation magazines and lots and lots of pc demos too that come with pc gaming magazines back in the day... I loved trying demo's so much, just to see what is new.

These days it seems the demo is watching other people play the game on youtube.

 

And if you like the game, you hit the like button and subscriiibe to their channel!

Apparently Denuvo has been sold off. We're totally supposed to trust them. Urgh.

Oh yes! Now I can use the games to enjoy the great single player campaign of SW:BF2! Oh wait...

On a more serious note, I'm proud of Noctua being Austrian, but Denuvo also... I guess it's light and dark everywhere.

 

And injustice 2 sold like crap despite the protection.

 

DRM is about trying to control the release, not piracy. Thinking it wouldn't have gone this route if no one cracked a game or anything else is the fantasy.

And DRM is to control piracy. The only reason to "control the release" is to control piracy.

 

Nothing wrong with DRM so long as it not plainly obvious it effecting the game performance, which at this point it is, fact of the mater is DRM dont workand certain game develops have figure this out already just like they figure out these DRM hurt game performance and mainly effect the paying customer only.

Stacking DRM isnt gona stop "piracy" from happening if anything it make they go harder at. and to counter that they gona stack "more" drm and further effect. game performance. I dont want to see this becoming vicious cycle anymore then people want to see this mining crazy force manufactures to 2 double there retail price for gpu, just for just other to double those price just for the manufacturers to double there retail prices again.

Except that actually gets you somewhere, the DRM has been proven by studies (which were suppressed by the government, scumbags) to be ineffective in actually generating more profit.

I despise Denuvo so much that the only thing it's done is prevent me from buying games. It's a key reason why I almost didn't order FF XV even at a large discount.

DRM has never made me buy a game that I wouldn't have bought otherwise.

 

And i refused to buy DA:I for pc cause its DRM and it platform. as such i got it for ps4
