http://www.nordichardware.com/news,8195.html Man Glad I read this before buying a 9950BE this friday. Long live amd!
Very excited. I think I'm the only one who thinks that overall, these will be better than the new Intels.
Even though e8xxx series can get over 4.3 on air :S I think its a little to late, But its a good step in the right direction
E8xxx is dual core, Q8xxx is quad core....so, now comparison between E8xxx and Deneb, nice call. I doubt Deneb will beat out Nahalem though.
Depends on how you're talking. Price, or performance? Maybe if AMD got it right, then they would go for the best price/performance ratio like ATI is under AMD. Plus, AMD doesn't get their speed from high clocks like Intel does. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I call shenanigans, but if this is true, then good for them. [/me] remembers people saying that AM2 cpus had reverse hyperthreading that let them run single-threads twice as fast as a single core (and no, I didn't believe it).
Yes and the odds of hitting 4ghz on an intel quad without a q9550 or above is slim to none. My q9450 gets 3.8 stable, 3.9 is max bootable on my X48 Rampage Formula. So being able to hit 4ghz+ on air is something to be said when a Q9550 costs $320 on newegg and deneb probably won't debut above $250 except for maybe the fx series, but who knows what's going on with that. The point is that to easily get 4ghz on an intel quad, you have to fork out more money, and if this is true for deneb then you can get that kind of performance for less money.
check out what that 'spammer' did on youtube under deneb its moderately funny, the video makes me hungry http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=O90GTNK9_H0
