I have to laugh... an overpriced, underperforming huge chip GPU that they can't even give you in time if you actually preordered one.
Reminds me of a lot of uproar when AMD cards weren't available at launch in the past, same picture here. Shame on you Nvidia, not well played.

So, Ngreedia is doing paper launches like $hintel now?
Who in their sane mine would buy these anyway? Unless you desperately need the extra performance (and can afford it), ray tracing is just a gimmick.

Paper launch has a very specific meaning, low stock at launch and/or delays in shipping is not a paper launch. While RT in games right now is limited, the tech itself is not a gimmick and will most likely be the standard in a few years time.

That being said this launch sucks and Nvidia's pricing of these cards given their performance isn't great.

This launch just feels more and more rushed. Why? Why does nVidia feel that they have to rush this product to market?
Because the performance is lacklustre that letting another 3 months go by to allow for actual games and stuff to make use of the tech would make it seem absurd after a 2 year wait? Because they got so close to christmas that they wanted these to be what people bought instead of 1080s? It's just flabbergasting what they're doing here. Marketing for the cards is an absolute mess too.

Still say it's expensive at 2080Ti? It looks like they are on balance and sell like hot breads. So it is expected that in the arrival of Christmas already must have etiquette of more than 2000 euros.

Pre-order without true benchmarks almost double the price of the 1080ti No RTX software at launch and performance s**ks for a 2 year wait and to it top off it's delayed.

    I pass this time around.

I'm an AMD fanboy, yet even I saw the value of getting a used GTX1080 to hook up to my UHD TV for some 4K gaming fun. I'd have gotten a used VEGA 56/64 but they were still priced above their nVidia counterparts.

I'd toyed with the idea of a RTX2080 but the price is just nuts, I'd end up paying about 1000USD for it (we always pay a premium here in my neck of the woods).....that's plain nuts.

They sold out everyone must be buying them. :) Oh Nvidia is so good at marketing. I will bet they made low initial volumes just to say they sold out.

They have been delayed 2 times already, correct me if I'm wrong.
In all examples they've shown, RT is useless and just eats performance. Maybe in the next generation, when the cards can actually do some actual RT developers are interested investing time with.
This launch is a joke, marketing was a joke and price/performance is non existent. They keep the "bigger GPU" trend and it will never stop making the cards more expensive.
Above 300mm2 you'll just get a big hole on your wallet: 1080 was 314mm2 and the 2080 is 545mm2 lol.

I'd bet the yields for that monolith GPU aren't that good so they had low stock to begin with.

There is something strange going on New Egg has the 2080 right now you can purchase the card and have it ship next day air also Micro Center (Retail outlet) has stock 6 brands 5-6 items for each.

I remember the pascal launch if you didn't purchase the video card within minutes of going live you waited a couple months before e-tailers had stock.

My guess is that nvidia was expecting far less sales for 2080ti and banked on most people going for regular 2080. So they probably churned out a shitload of 2080’s in the factory and hardly any Ti’s.

That plan would have worked just fine if the 2080’s has decent performance gains over the 1080ti’s but the 2080 is underperforming hard. So the only option for people who want noticeable performance gains is the 2080ti. Even at its ludicrous price, people still want those gains.

There's nothing wrong with the performance of the GTX2080ti, I would love to get one. The only problem is the pricing imho, which feels like it's at least £300 over-priced.

The GTX2080 however is a different kettle of fish and seems like the direct replacement of the GTX1080ti with some more minor performance improvements (but GTX1080ti can still pull a few wins).

Yes, I would like to hear the same guys saying the same for these NV cards. Btw, I wouldn't say they are underperforming as they nearly get a 700-900 series performance upgrade, but those cards were 50$ cheaper than the 700 equivalents. Now they get a bit less pfare 100-150-400-600$ more expensive... It is the price-performance ratio that is ridiculous.

Pricing it 300-400$ more for a technology that is in its infancy is a joke. Plus the 2080 is also more expensive than the 1080Ti.

What sucks even more is those of us expecting to get one and have already sold our GPUs. Now I can't even find a store that will let me pre-order. Everything is so unsure right now its rediculous.

Can you tell me why don't you stick to a 1080Ti? Just tell me one reason.

Another delay on top of the month of pre-orders. People with pre-orders should consider cancelling until Nvidia sorts whatever problems they're having.
