    I never felt the need for it.

    @JohnLai
    Your cpu should handle 50 fps files with small margin, probably 10 bit too. Try reset MPC HC settings like someone suggests here https://www.koepi.info/showthread.php?p=1696858#post1696858

    Edit: Additionally, for better GPU performance, i advice for all amd users turn off all enhacements in CCC panel like egde enh. noise reduction, deblockcing, white balance, steady video etc. Leave only Deinterlacing as is (auto). r7 260x is not weak card, but what if some enhacements are software based, then occupy cpu cycles.

    Darn, it turns out CCC Omega update reactivated some of the useless video enhancement.
    Now, the hevc elementary stream decode only uses around 25% - 40%.

    Still, it doesn't change the fact hybrid decoding is needed for those with weaker or older hardware. I cant seem to get any input from AMD side on hybrid decoding. I doubt AMD can't do it. After all, Intel Haswell IGPU can support hybrid decoding just fine.

    That's because it was designed to. AMD are a little, slow?

    Does it? I don't recall disabling anything under Video; but when I just checked, nothing was enabled (except Deinterlacing at automatic and Smooth Video Playback).

    I assume you will wait for this for 2-3 years, because AMD even not capable of doing 4k DXVA h264 decoding (at least on mine 7870)

    Yes, not on HD 7xxx but r9 2xx does http://www.anandtech.com/show/8460/amd-radeon-r9-285-review/4 and its doing 4k@60fps h264 quite nicely.

    I dont remeber it right but if im not mistaken, when new r9 2xx card appeared, amd said they give up partial encoding/decoding in favour for full hardware. Maybe new version of UVD will come to amd 3xxx [dreams]

    Okay, that settles it. Change of plan to buy another R7 260X for crossfire purpose.

    Time to buy Nvidia GPU. Although I did have worst experience with nvidia product. I still remember the darn faulty bump material used in 8800GTX in which Nvidia was sued. 3 times RMA >.< , then I jumped to ATI HD4850. I kinda worry about recent news on coil whine of GTX970.

    Is AMDMatt going to answer this post, whether he has an answer or not?
