Only reviews can convince me on this one. Knowing the horrible CoJ's they made, I'm not too sure...

A few moans about visual issues on the console version, apart from that seems quite promising.

So I rate 8.5 for graphics on PC ?
Accoding to this thread about CoJ: the Cartel http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=350352 I thinkg game support Directx 11 using Chrome Engine 5
First 45 minutes of gameplay
wow single player doesn't look that bad but I wonder how multiplayer is.
like single but coop?
Well, firstly I'll disagree with this because Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood was awesome. And I really enjoyed the first CoJ title.
Yes, The Cartel is ****... but it's pretty obvious it was just a quick, cheap cash grab.
There's only coop. There is no competitive MP component.
Yeah CoJ 1 & 2 were both fantastic. 2 especially had one of the best cover systems in an fps to date. I didn't bother with 3 because it was clear to see the real talent at Techland were instead working on Dead Island.
I'm still secretly pining for Chrome 2 though.
I hear its like a drop in and out type where your friends can join/leave whenever also if you preorder you also get the DLC that is coming out a month after release (Bloodbath Arena DLC) that will have endless amounts of zombies to clear etc...
here's another 20 min vid of the single player and you do find actual guns doesn't look bad to me but this is the console version video.
More Single Player Footage(20 min)
To the lucky Americans who already have this game!
Do the retail/physical copies of Dead Island use Steamworks?
USA people, please post screens!!!
white, i preloaded game. pls coop to my face.
What a worrying sentence lol.
Too many games to get, but this one certainly looks the easiest to get into, so looking forward to see how it plays/looks/runs.
i can only play on saturday i think, dont have time on friday.
the game is out friday right ? the 9th ? cant check here at work.
yes it is.
It's still Monday here in the US. The game doesn't release until tomorrow.
Well I cancelled my pre-order after reading EG's 6/10 review.
I know the game has scored better Stateside but all the reviews point out at how scrappy and unfinished the game feels and that put me off it. I also had no interest in playing it as anything other than a solo RPG so the fact that parts of the game are designed for co-op and, thus, harder for solo gamers was the final nail in the coffin. There's no manual saves and dying punishes you by taking away cash.
There's supposedly a Day One patch to fix some of the issues but I'm happy to wait for feedback and maybe putting it on my To Buy Later list, perhaps when Steam sell it one of their sales and it has been patched with improvements/tweaks. We're now entering a time of year when there are lots of high quality games imminent so there's no room in my life for merely okay games.
