I'm not a fanboy I didnt even like the other 2 and I think its amazing. What now?
Me too, not a fan boy, NEVER played the previous Deus Ex and i loved it ...
Not sure when it'll be put on steam but here is an update from them:
I think this is going to be one of those games that will get better once the patch it (this Friday) and when they make mods for the game.
to day when I 1st logged on to dead island and got a information message and had to start over the game over am i the only one getting this.
maybe you got that dev. version instead of retail? idk i saw something about wrong preload in US..
try to verify integrity of game data..
The release day patch caused conflict with the pre-order DLC for the Ripper weapon. Techland are aware of it, and have promised a fix for the next patch which is coming "soon".
Someone told me that according to their facebook page, the big patch is due on Friday.
I'm pretty sure the patch is part of the update already out, Friday is just the unlock for the EU regions but of course further updates are likely going to be available.
A small second patch just arrived fixing that DLC conflict it seems, just a little additional file that downloaded.
guys i see the game came out in 2007? So what happened? New update?
where did you see that ?
this game is excellent, been playing it and i really like it, love the Chrome 5 engine, i love the chrome engine in general.
not had any problem and everything is fine, no control issues or anything, i update the game too, i was only at the beginning but i had to restart the game after updating, don't care.
i feel sorry for the naysayers tbh, cause this is a GREAT game!
Can you guys tell me why you can already play it?
north america release was yesterday. europe gets it on the 9th and japan gets it on october 20th
or if you want, just google for the torrent. plenty of sites have it to download
Either they are from USA or they use some kind of VPN to fool steam to think they are from USA (like http://usaip.eu/en/free_vpn.php).
Demo version works for 7 minutes, which is enough to buy US version.
After game is activated and you can play it even from Europe for example and without VPN.
FFS this game is almost as bad as hunted the demons forge. ive played better stuff on my cell phone.
i want my $17.00 back :wanker:
The game has been in development since Chrome Engine 1 though originally it was mostly a FPS, now it's a action/RPG perhaps comparable to say Riddick or what to use albeit with zombies and a little crazy ala Dead Rising but not quite that over the top.
EDIT: I believe it's been posted but early on the game had a rather sophisticated multi-layer damage system, not just skin and flesh (With dismemberment and some extras like bone damage and such though.) as now but more thorough.
since chrome1 ? wow! thanks for the info jonas
Yeah I'm fairly certain the game was around since a little after Call of Juarez 1 seeing how the first images appeared in 2005, then again in 2006 but more refined and then in 2007 where it started to take this current style and then in well this year with little footage at all from 2008 to 2010 as I understood it.
Can anyone tell me how to get the graphics settings to change when you change the video.scr? Do I rename it video.ini and then edit settings then rename it back to video.scr? When I do that the settings default when I go back in game.
EDIT: I just noticed that the settings are saved in the file but in game they have the default settings.
