BTW is all this talk true about Dead Island PC being a Dev version? I have not seen any press statements so...

 

Techland is checking things but there will likely not be much talk about it, build will be switched and then re-downloaded as needed.
(I don't think every single file will need to be replaced after all.)

lol it clearly shows they need at least another month to fix everything..

 

The first patch is coming out in a few hours fixing that previously listed stuff, in the process this will likely also fix the binaries or what it is that differed (Since they'll be replaced.) so it's no longer a development build.

What bugs are you guys experiencing?

I haven't played co-op yet, so maybe that's why I haven't come across anything but I've played a good 5 hours and haven't had a single problem, game's been running flawlessly.

All I really want now is a better FOV + proper AA.

 

The game have frequent freezing/hang ups of 3-4 seconds for me. Absolutely unacceptable.

And the patch is now out, 76 MB roughly.

 

i'm so glad i didnt pre-order this game. sounds like quite the disaster on release ...

 

It is only the Steam version which has/is about to be fixed anyway.
I am going for a physical copy on Friday.

Game plays perfectly fine. Single player wise anyways, I haven't tried the coop at all.
But the single player functions fine, runs smooth... combat is fun. Yes there are some bugs and problems, but that's to be with an open world RPG/FPS like this.
Deep Silver sending the developer build to STEAM is a hell of a mess up, and Techland aren't happy about the situation. But, it's not like the game is completely unplayable or riddled with bugs.

 

Steamworks game.

Still the issue was quite minor and quickly rectified as far as I see it, should have waited a bit until release and Valve (And Techland.) were more synchronized instead of this automated system pushing the game out just like that and the issue would have likely been resolved quicker.

Game itself is great though, if you like this specific genre.

Hey,

I would just like to say to all these people hating on this game saying their glad they didn't buy it, its crap, etc. etc.

Obviously you haven't played this game because it is very good, not just good but VERY good, it has extremely good gameplay, good graphics and a good story line.

I played last night for about 5 hours and was extremely surprised at how well it runs and how fun it is to play.

2 new games DuesEx, and COJ: The Cartel, feel and look like console trash when you play them. This game "feels" like a real PC game and plays like one too.

Highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good PC game and likes the zombie genre.

I would even say this is the best zombie themed game yet. Best PC game I bought this year (besides Witcher2)

PS, just wanted to add, I know there has been a lot of crap games released recently, I have been dissapointed many times, so I understand all the people worried this is another piece of crap, but give it a go, I think you will be happy you did, even if you only enjoy it till BF3 comes out!
