Thanks. Newegg had these for $154.49 + $4.99 shipping. I think I got a pretty good deal.

    maxfly,

Should I go with this RAM

OCZ 2GB Kit DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition

    or this one?

    Corsair TWIN2X 2048MB 240-Pin DDR2 XMS2-8500 C5D

Also which P35 Asus motherboard should I go with? I need to overclock Q6600 to like 3.5gig :-D

    Thanks man!

they are both very good choices.they also use the same high binned d9gmh ics.so i would go with whichever is cheapest.or if you can find some head to head comparisons of them that may make the choice a little easier.

i would probably go with the p5k deluxe if i were in your shoes.ive seen some amazing ocs with that mb.keep in mind tho that abit and gigabyte have some excellent p35 offerings as well.
either way tho youll be having loads of fun with that gear!

Thanks a lot maxfly. That gigabyte would have been my first choice but unfortunately they are out of it. Also thanks for clearing the ram issue :D Since they don't have the corsair dominators I'll go with the ocz's (after I check some benchmarks) :p

Do you think the asus p5k (deluxe or non-deluxe) is as good in overclocking as the gigabyte p35-ds3r?

Sorry but they sell it as a kit with the heatsinks included always :( , but maybe maxfly can help you better my friend , most likely he can find you a good deal on those , since you live in Europe i dont know the stores there bro ,ask Maxfly he helped me a lot , he knows every store on the planet where they carry all kinds of memory.

Good Luck my friend , hope to see you back in action again , Guru3D overclocking team miss you.

Just have few small problems to solve. Silly things like cables too short, stuff like that. Don't forget I'm stil a n00b at oc'ing. I don't have a lot of spare stuff yet

Sort of in holiday mode as well.

If maxfly knows about those Team sticks without heatsinks, please let me know.

    EDIT: wow, only found the 2 x 1gb here....with heatsinks at €282..phew!
More EDIT: False alarm, wrong modules.

@Joner,dont sweat it bro.crucial is awesome with rmas.i just returned 4x256 mb of ddr500.shipped them monday they got them weds...the replacements will be here this coming monday!not to mention they will cross ship if you need them asap.they will charge your cc until they recieve the faulty modules.

@Saqib im not sure tbh.the best advice i can give for the mb is to check out xtremesystems.org for some benchmark results.or take a look at anandtech or x-bit labs.they both usually do head to heads with the latest gear.so you should have no problem finding some solid info.

@Don,those modules come stock with the thermalright sinks.altho if you email www.tankguys.com they may be able to hook you up with some bare modules(and they may be able to save you some money).if it can be done they will find a way.as for shipping tho i cant say(dont know where your at lol).
another thing to keep in mind is that prices over seas are much higher than in the states :( so youll be hard pressed to find a really good deal unfortunately.

Yeah there's a big pond in the middle.......Shipping will cost, oh, just about the price for 2 hr07's :D

Found the wrong ones before (those where 1066). Can get the 1200's for round €315.....that's bit steep right now.

He man, how come you don't put up a nice 3dmark06 score?

that is pretty expensive.you dont like your kingston 8500s?

oh i dont bench much tbh.essentially i run 3dm05/06.along with the usual stability testing progs right after a new build and thats usually it.

It may help Guru3D to get higher in the rankings ;)

And there's nothing wrong with the Kingstons (Nothing wrong with the G.Skill's I have too, either). Just keeping my mind open for better. Trying different setups. May just build a new system and sell the "old" one. Keeps it payable to have the latest stuff all the time.
