Repeating myself, I don't have this game, so I can't test it.

But these settings did work on almost every UE4 game I own.
The exception were Soul Calibur and Borderlands 3.
For some reason, these options are locked or not recognized in these games.

You can test it by yourself. At best, image quality improves. At worst, it does nothing.

Does ReShade work in this game? if it does you could use that to force it to have better antialiasing, FXAA and SMAA I thiiiiiiiink? not 100% sure, I'm still pretty noobish at ReShade.

Given this is DX11 should work fine.

Yes you can inject SMAA+FXAA with Reshade. Used to do that back in the early Reshade and SweetFX days myself.
It can give pretty good AA results, though ofc blurs the image (sharpen too!) and the latter method is applied on top of the former so it's not optimal in that sense.

These days cba to tinker w Reshade anymore... I'm old dammit!

Shhh! That's my reasoning for buying the game and I'm sticking to it!

Downloading as we speak, with the GPU at the ready :)

Update on known issues (copied from Steam):

    Hi everyone,

We are currently investigating the following issues that have been impacting some players with Days Gone on PC:

    · Issues with a lack of controller input. If you are not receiving any controller input, please follow these steps: Make sure ‘Ignore Controller’ is turned off in the Options > Controller menu. Make sure only one controller is connected in windows. Try clicking left mouse into the game window to give the game windows focus
    · Audio issues, including loss of audio at initial launch
    · Difficulties with the mouse feeling like there is a “dead zone”
    · Simultaneous mouse and keyboard/gamepad input conflicting with rolling/sprinting actions
    · Camera issues when using a mouse. To work around this issue, turn off ‘Bike Camera Tracking’ and ‘Camera Follow Tracking’ in the Options > Gameplay menu
    · Problems with turning in bounties or meat, while also unable to properly interact at other vendors
    · Unable to equip weapons from the player Gun Locker with controller
    · Game hang when the cinematic starts before the mission ‘What’s A Nice Girl’
    · Intermittent crashes when booting the game or in the early game
    · Intermittent issues with game speed

We are aware of the concern expressed by some players about the Data Collection Policy. Any personal information in the telemetry data is completely anonymized unless you specifically agree to Full & Limited Data.

Thank you all for sharing your feedback across our channels, and showing your incredible support with our Days Gone PC launch. Our team is continuing to monitor all issues and we will update you when more news is available. See you on the Broken Road!

UPDATE (5/20/21): Additional steps were added if you are experiencing issues with a lack of controller input. If you are not receiving any controller input, please follow these steps: Make sure ‘Ignore Controller’ is turned off in the Options > Controller menu. Make sure only one controller is connected in windows. Try clicking left mouse into the game window to give the game windows focus.

    What the actual fudge, keytracker?
Can't help but think this is part of if not the reason for the movement or slow down issues mentioned.

Devs just state they're aware of the concerns and personal information is "randomized", according to patch notes above.
Why does the game collect any info outside of the game anyway?

Well I know what I'm doing once I start playing: I'll type "track this you stupidos" and then firewall block.

Though IIRC HZD also basically required you to opt-in for some telemetry, seems to be a thing with Sony games. But still, why?
Does Sony use the keytracker to try and detect if action on screen matches the inputs and constantly scan the system for cheats?

Is this how Sony's anticheat works on PlayStation too? If this indeed is, as they say, to prevent cheating.

I ended up buying Days Gone for £27.99 after watching Digital Foundry's video in which they praised the port. I'm oddly enjoying the game far more on PC but that is because I am using FLiNG's trainer to enable infinite health. I got so frustrated with dying in the PS4 Pro version that I stopped playing it. Anyway, the PC version seems to be working fine for me.

Sure, I'm cheating but I do not play or enjoy competitive online games anyway and prefer to play games for the experience/atmosphere/story etc and not the challenge so this is a great way for me to play without worrying about dying and losing progress. Skill progress, mission experience and everything is earned as intended.

  11. I don't really care about stats tracking in Days Gone, because every game does some form of tracking/user metrics these days. I simply put firewall rules on every single game/app I install on my PC, unless I know I need it to connect to the internet (online only games). It's a good rule for everyone concerned about their privacy.

Yes it does and it makes a massive difference. Add some sharpening and some levelplus makes a huge improvement. I also use fakehdr.

Don't you feel that infinite health takes away some of the suspension and excitement? You can basically just steamroll anything then. I'm playing a secind time through, but this time on survival. So intense without fast travelling and having to manage and plan ahead for any activity.

Runs like a dream maxed out.

    Another underrated game loving it.

Played a bit and definitely liking it!

Looks good and runs (mostly) great.
Gameplay is good too so far at least and mouse aiming works very well, no acceleration or smoothing or lag (disabled the follow player and follow bike camera features).

The character models impressed me, look very detailed and natural:
    DaysGone_2021_05_21_19_49_28_243.jpg

Game does seem to have some optimization issues where frame rate plummets and GPU usage drops radically, even without a CPU core being maxed (fps cap at 120):

    DaysGone_optimization_2.jpg

Doesn't seem to use more than about 6 threads effectively and hammers one or two cores harder than others.

If the game used dx12 api it would had used more than 2-6threads and performance would be even more impressive.

  17. I don't think it's underrated. It has always been a solid game.

Even though it has been modified, it's still an UE4 game. Don't expect good CPU utilization across multiple cores. It will mostly utilize 2 hw threads, the render thread and the game thread.

Yeah probably, kind of strange Days Gone went with DX11 only. Oh well.

You can try and add this command to the steam properties of the game, or of the shortcut.

I get what you mean but I think that playing the game with god mode to just experience it is essentially like watching a movie. You get the story and characters but with no failure state.

I wanna do the higher modes but I want something like Tsushima lethal+ where both I and the enemy do more damage. Survival here just makes the enemies do more damage and have tons more health.
