Game running good - if it doesnt crash.
Im receiving "video driver crashed and was reset" crash to desktop super annoying, using latest Nvidia driver so far...

Check your OC if you one.

Sensitive to overclock like @blurp33 said. Amd also gets crashes if pushed too far.

Thx, I already figured it out, someone else also told me that Days Gone is really sensitive to aggressive clocks.
My undervolting was the reason, now, at stock it runs fine.

Played loads of this so far, loving the story and the atmosphere.

However, the game suffers later in the game from tons of stutter, especially when riding the bike around. Inside the first forest area its not too bad as the trees seem to block a lot of the other stuff so its rendered but in the open areas like the desert and snowy areas it can become a stutter fest and its quite jarring. But walking around its pretty damn smooth only fps drops I've had is in the larger towns near the lake down south on the map and its only in one area when looking directly through the town so lots of stuff is rendered.

I can not help but think this game would of massively benefited from DX12 or Vulkun support (gonna test out DXVK in a bit see if it helps with the stutter).

I have noticed the game barely touches the CPU and only uses around 4 threads, I've also noticed that shadows are occlude VERY heavily you can notice this when turning the camera and keep and eye on the character model, pass it over a shadowed area and the shadow behind will begin to disappear and reappear when back in view. It's very fast, and it happens when any object passes over a shadowed area. I think the game is occluding too many objects, whilst trying to draw too many, whilst trying to stream in too many and the DX11 API or their game code simply can't keep up and stutter happens.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Finished, did all the extended endings also, solid 9/10.
Once you finish the main story keep playing till you 100% the NERO missions.

Yep getting some inexplicable frame drops sometimes and about 6 CPU threads used:

    Days Gone

Tried DXVK latest-at-the-time master branch with async patched (kudos to @aufkrawall2 ) and didn't help improve minimum framerate plus made the game a stutterfest.
(Release version 1.8.1 won't work with Days Gone).

I tried this version of DXVK 1.8.1 and the game was running at 1-3fps!!! :D lmao

The stutter is quite bad but the game it self is so good that I don't mind it as you have access to a decent fast travel and the map isn't that big. But still I hope the devs move onto DX12 or Vulkun for their next project as I doubt this game will see much, if any, updates that big.

Yeah release version does that, latest branches contain a fix making DXVK work properly but the game stutters like crazy even with async patch applied, there seem to be tons of shaders or smth.

Idk if you left the game running for like 2 hours would it eventually stabilize but hardly worth the effort.

As by my experience framerate drops just as it does with DX11.
There were enough stutter-free intervals to see framerate didn't improve from DX11.

Is it an msi gpu thing?

    No stutter here on a 9700k and 2080ti or 3070 and 10700k

The game runs fine most of the time, but there are parts with stutters / fps drops without hardware being maxed.

The "stutterfest" was if trying to run the game with DXVK (DirectX to Vulkan wrapper).

    I have stutters when driving.
    Cant fix them...

And with latest driver - "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered..."
All the time; must use 1.4.21 or 1.3.21

ride your bike really fast around large open areas, and make a video, post it here, otherwise I don't believe you. I've seen people with 3090 rigs getting the same stutter and there are tons of forum posts on it over on steam.

The stuttering is an amd thing unfortunately becouse as i didnt see nvidia cards are doing that. My are the worst in bigger towns even the framerate is high but the game feels like something only multi gpu users can describe.

That happens the closer to 60fps you are or if capped at 60.

Could be that, out of habit I have all my games run as admin and the FSO disabled.
