for a game that's in development for so long to make rasterized version look as good as possible was probably very importnt for cdprjkt,I don't think they wanted to rely on RT.
I still would use RT reflections and RT diffuse illumination,no amount of optimizing rasterized look is gonna replicate those. For GI you don't need the psych RT setting to look good.

looks like 4/6 core ryzens are straight out of "gaming" cache here and their memory latency shows

I've been looking for 3060ti RT on performance numbers here and stumbled upon this dude's setup
    start watching at 3:14
3060Ti ultra with RT on is not reaching full utilization with a r5 3600,sitting in mid 80s for a large chunk of the video, even dropping below 80%

I did some testing and i'm 100% correct. Game uses only 3 cores and 6 threads on my 3300X. I can disable 1 core and have exactly same FPS in CPU demanding areas.
That's why it works fine on 9600k , there is similar problem on 3600X , ( probably only using 4 cores and 8 threads ). Very bad news for AMD owners :(

Why is the 1080 Ti getting slapped by the 2070 Super so hard? They're supposed to be similar in performance but the 2070S has a 17FPS or 30% (!) higher average at 1080p.
I was actually massively disappointed at how hard I have to turn down the quality settings to get above 70-80FPS, I'm somewhere around medium settings and I'm barely staying over 60FPS outside.
    What the hell is this?

1080ti should be comparable to 2080...well it was at the release day not today.

Cdpr will probably issue a patch for amd cpus and hopefuly increase the performance.

This game simply can't use more than 6 threads on 8 thread system . Total nightmare.

Regarding not using one or two CPU cores, first of all it's really hard to spread the engine over many cores. Secondly, depending on the CPU, it's better to not load one or two cores, for the higher overall CPU clock of the remaining cores.
But of course, seeing a 3060 being not completely loaded is a bit sad with a Ryzen 5. I guess some more driver and game patches needed here.

Thats not the case here , CPU has headroom , when game starts it locks to 3 cores , 1 core is IDLE.

Is that the case for 8cores too? I'vee seen 8c16t cpus being utilized properly in this game idk why are having such a behaviour.

No , i think it might be ONLY AMD problem looking at german site i linked . intel 6/12 are utylized max thats why 5600X is beaten by 10400F , in no other game this scenario is possible. (even using cheapo ram :D).

When you start the game you see it first second how many threads it takes. And on my system it takes 6.

Anyone has idea how to force decent AA in this game on Radeon ? I have lots of GPU power to spare.

I've seen people throw fits over how bad this plays on ps4
cracks me up every time :D their 1.8TFlop gpu, mechanical drives and jaguar cpus are really being underutilized
"witcher 3 ran better" - well no s**t sherlock
they're waiting for cdprjkt to patch the games on ps4 to make it run smoothly  somebody needs to tell them they oughta buy hardware consistent with the decade they live in

I'm not even attempting to play this on a gtx 1070

Someone should tell CDPR that if they want to sell SW on PS4, its should run on it. You cant sell it as a PS4 ready, when the game runs at 15fps and looks garbage.
Its called a scam. This whole release was a scam. B-roll footage scam. You dont treat your customers like that. CDPR is just another faceless greedy corporation, ppl should wake up from their pink dreams. They got shafted... will take a few moments to realize that, after 100s of milions of dollars were used to confuse the masses and 10s of fake reviews dropped with 10/10 masterpiece rating. Takes a while to sober up after this... but many already see it for what it is. Runs great on 3080... in 1080p :D

Man I'm even disappointed how it runs on a 3080. Anywhere between 55-100fps on Ultra @1080p with ray-tracing turned off. Right now it just started raining in-game and average I'm doing 55fps. 8700k at 5.2Ghz, 32GB ram cl16, 3080. No wonder this game was delayed again and again.

my 3700x pegs my 2070s at 96-99% all the time while playing.

Looks like game developers are now making games for only the rich since the tauted middle-class is basically extinct! I for one will never be able to afford in buying a GPU that even remotely qualifies to enjoy games of this caliber. Also makes we wonder who can actually afford the 'cash needed' to purchase any of the higher-end 3000 series GPU's, because there are more people out there like me on the lower-end of the food chain trying to making ends meet. Like me driving a forklift on the third shift at Walmart and still living with Mom in her walkout basement. My shopper friends and colleagues at Walmart bearing me out.
