I'd rather them delay it then ship a buggy mess. They've earned it.

On one hand I totally appreciate their attention to detail and quality.

    On the other hand.

I'll bet we see some early benchmarks for the game when Ampere or Big Navi are released.

It's OK. Looks like they're aiming for something that most game publishers don't - a game that is polished on release and that doesn't need the Day 1 patch that is almost mandatory these days.

I guess it would be a bugged game with several patches to follow with a September 17 release or a much more stable game November 19th.

Was this game not announced in 2012 same as Star Citizen ,well at least I did not buy Star Citizen lol. Although the trailers and video's of Cyberpunk 2077 are not that impressive to me, biggest kick out of the game so far was E3 reveal of Keanu Reeves last year.

Delayed to get a cross platform release with the next gen consoles and hopefully big sales numbers on Black Friday and Christmas rush?

Sorry the cynic broke free for a moment there, insert statement about bugs, being polished, it will be awesome etc...

Not buying this marketing stunt, it's a business decision driven by the fact that global economy is stall. Why bother appearing holier than you are.

My dying 1080 Ti breathes a sigh of relief. Little does he know it's very likely he'll go through the torture that will be running Cyberpunk 2077 anyway, despite the delay, because the video card market is FUBAR.

I think they're just waiting to launch it with XSEX. Which if true is BS for PC gamers.

Doubt it. All the major work on it has already been done. Its software, not hardware, therefore they gain nothing by holding it back for economic reasons. They need to recoup their investment as soon as they can. If poor sales during weak global economy, it will pick up when economy strengthens. It just means it will take them longer to see their investment pay off.

I would put money on this. MS may be advertising it a lot, but it'll be out for everything, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was Sony that pushed for this. Sony's entire MO is that they're the centre of the universe and you must play crap only on their inferior, poorly planned, consoles. If they can't have exclusives, they'll at least try to delay all other releases.

Launch window are extremely important, CD Projekt Red is gonna spend a ton of money on Marketing for the launch, they have to make the most out of it, exactly like movies.

Driving a marketing campaign, trying to reach people, when news broadcast are dominated by COVID19 daily death counts, job losses, law enforcements going out of line etc... It's just throwing money and time out the window.
