Hi, thought it only fair to create a build log here, as my fav forum.
    but not used much lately.
Due to interest will try create log.

Ok idea was to build a new project taking one step further than last project.

So decided to make my own case to start it with.

The idea was size and weight would be no object.
    Deffo not for Lans etc.

I started with using sketchup for internal structure.

so when it came to metal i folded this and had powdercoated Pigeon blue.

Some may disagree with colour, but thats down to preference i guess.

Next stage was to show powdercoat Pigeon blue

Is a tricky structure to make, but all came out as i wanted.

inserts fitted, all parts individual to allow customising or added bays etc.

ok next stage was to do the front and rear panels.

Now i cant take credit for the laser cutting was farmed out.

But i did do the milling out and design to suit.

    Is a big case 300mm *680

cant find any direct pics of rear panel

    but this one should do
    [IMG]

rear panel can suit 140mm fans or 120mm fans

this was part of design etc

Next stage was to sort out top/bottom panels

At first i was gonna fabricate it, then decided best to use 12mm ally and mill to suit.
(wish id gone with fabricating) too late, but is far better this way.

ok then i required a RAD GRILL... Some one was gonna do me a fancy one, but backed out, so i did one to complement mesh on front panel
    [IMG]

the idea of this was to have it slot in perfect, so no horrid mounting screw

however still had to tap 2 holes to mount it to keep it flat fit..

oh well, 2 screws isnt too bad

ok this pic shows how i was able to fit front and rear panels

so the rad stands were purchased, so designed bottom to allow theese to be used.

May remake my own eventually to suit 140 rads.

    Ok, now onto side panels.

Even though i was gonna use 3mm ally, new they might be a bit flappy if not supported right.

So have got holes for camlocks to support at front and allow to lock panels in place. stop people knicking bits.

designed this to suit mesh of other grills.

This case will allow 2 rads in top 2 rads at bottom
prob tripple at rear and i in bottom..... you get picture im sure.

Looks awesome as I expected because it's your project :)

Too bad your out of work, but I hope that you can find cash to get that one painted, perhaps sell your Monster1 case and that way start selling custom PC cases. Must be hard to sell those since it takes lots of hard work to get those done and those look really awesome.

    Thanks for comments.

Yes i can now appreciate the cost of prototyping, and realise why many cases are made at reduced quality.

    Otherwise no profit made.

Guess manufacturers dont start seeing return for long while.

Well i guess it will be be suited for thinner panels and production quantities.

Would may of liked to make less box shaped, but had to realisticly be able to make it also.
Would of hated to get stuck half way through. Have been working on MK2, but would be crazy to make at moment.

But i cant say it hasnt been fun.

Had thought about selling Monster1, will see how things go.

Impressive. I like the thick panels you chose. That thing looks like you could hit it with a cricket bat. I don't see a monster, it looks like a safe-box, or some kind of industrial hardware.

BTW, when I saw picture number one in the OP, I thought: "WTF, where does everything go?" LOL.

Yep the main structure (the important bit) is kinda confusing, until the panels are fitted.

Shame i didnt sort some ssd cadiies out at that point.

There is some rad surround bits to sort still, but will be after coating now.
Im sure i can talk coater into doing those later for free.

Your right is dam heavy. no way i could affort to do from titanium though .

Oh well im nice strong lad, ill be able to lift it somehow .

Also, pci bracket and mobo tray to do still.
Supports SEATX....... (made up standard, will allow basically 10 pci slots.
Dont suppose mobo manufacturers will incorporate any time soon.

but will allow for things like those hdmi soundcard expantions and extra usb etc etc, to be fitted to back, without loss of slots.
