Curious question about Game Mode and HAGS in 21H2

For me, HAGS significantly reduces input lag both ingame and the desktop. That's with GSync (well, NVIDIA GPU and FreeSync monitor, so fake GSync), vsync, and 120hz. I can't speak to any other combination.

 

I'll turn HAGS off for now since I've had some stuttering issues here and there with games. However, I'll try Game Mode.

Related question - Is there any point of having VRR enabled if one uses G-sync?

 

Yes, since both refer to the same switch just from a different place and with a different label.

As for HAGS, I advice to use either HAGS or NVCPL Low Latency Mode and not both at the same time.
I get less jitter with HAGS than with Low Latency Mode Normal/Ultra, if I enable both I have stuttering issues in some games too.

 

I dont use either too.They seem more like gimmicks tbh.

Also doesnt gamemode just stop updates from playing?At first it did some wierd priority crap but it was causing issues and ppl complained and now it just stops updates while playing.
