    Hi guys

I have tried this Crytek Neon Noir Benchmark and for love of god my scores are same like with 1080p or 1440p or even in Ultrawide 3440x1440, scores are around 3200-3300 points

Looks like I'm CPU limited or my CPU does bottleneck very badly in this benchmark

Running 5960x with 4.6Ghz currently and Asus RTX 2080Ti Strix with 2160MHz OC

Although I'm running RAM at 2113MHz which can make a bit difference but still my scores are very low if I'm comparing against the 4690k or 6700k etc and GTX1080Ti

GPU usage its very low in this benchmark, literally sits in 20-40% during the whole benchmark and in only two instances seen full boost clocks at 2145-2160MHz

    Thanks, Jura

AMD said it would go open source "eventually" but never got that far. It was clearly a PR push. They instead moved their efforts to Vulkan, as a means of effectively making it open source.

But make no mistake, Mantle's code under the Mantle name was never open source.

    Hi,

something else must be limiting it, like a fps cap, try to check its cfg file..

I get 6K with my OC 980Ti @ 1080p ultra and cpu didn't really have a hard time, usually it was 20-40% in total.

    My system:
    CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
    MOBO: ASRock B450M PRO4
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB 3200mhz (running at 3000mhz)
    GFX: EVGA GTX 1060 3GB
    PSU: EVGA 700 GD

OK! Time to benchmark (pics attached):

    Raytracing: Ultra (1600x900)
    FPS Results
    LOW: 40
    AVG: 53
    HIGH: 66
    SCORE: 4680

    Raytracing: Ultra (1400x900)
    FPS Results
    LOW: 41
    AVG: 56
    HIGH: 70
    SCORE: 5089

    Raytracing: Very High (1600x900)
    FPS Results
    LOW: 63
    AVG: 72
    HIGH: 81
    SCORE: 5962

Pretty sweet scores! People are worried that the 3GB 1060 is stunted or something compared to the 6GB 1060 and well, while it technically is, most games only get a couple of frames more performance for all the trouble, and these results are a great example of that! I got this card for a really great price on EVGA's B-Stock section on Midweek Madness (their sale they have every Wednesday) and it was $109! Not bad for a card that retails at around $200! I built this entire system for under $450 and I couldn't be happier!

    Anyways, rock on folks! \,,/

    Hi there

I think so too its something is limiting, did check CFG and there is nothing which is suspicious to me, just I observed during the benchmark my clocks bounce like crazy from 1200MHz to 4600MHz on every core on my 5960x during the benchmark

No FPS cap what I know, when I start benchmark GPU usage is at 99% then drops to 20-40% seen only twice GPU usage above 60%

    Will check BIOS as next

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

    I see, that's strange.

Maybe it's that issue with ITA - technology access. I remember Ryse Son of Rome had to have it installed or it would have low gpu usage drops. It has been fixed for me now. I remember initial win10 had it really bad.

I later found out ITA has the same function as windows timer that sets it to lowest possible 5ms.

    worth a try :)

    Hi TJ

I think I fixed that issue by disabling HPET and scores are finally goid amd I should be, at 1080p I'm still CPU limited and in 3440x1440 GPU usage is quite good

    bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

    bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

    Interesting, what about other stuff?

Did it had same positive effects, i remebr this setting isn't ideal for all.. some apps/games acted worse, maybe it's different with more cores, but dunno..

I think I benchmarked one time and on i7 it was worse then on my old c2q q9450.. I didnt test it since.. i think i still had win8.1 or maybe in early win10.

    Hi TJ

I tried only few benchmarks last time, Superposition and 3DMARK and all my results are very similar to my best results or almost same

Will try few games as well when I have time and see if there is any difference in gaming, in rendering performance its okay, no issues and render times are okay

Will do few more tests and see if its have any impact on games and apps

    Thanks, Jura
