So I bought Crysis 2 on Steam, and realized that I had the same bug on my Crossfire as I had on the Crysis 2 DEMO (Multiplayer).

Both of my GPU's are at 99%, however, I only get the frame rate I'm supposed to get if only 1 card was working, yet both are at 99% stress....

So I said to my self, hey, let's try RadeonPro like on the DEMO.

So I went and made a Profile, and I put the MVPUMode to "Alternate Frame Rendering".

Launched the game, all great, now I am never below 100fps!! Just 1 problem... I have huge flickering on the lights.

So I tried using the Bioshock CrossfireX profile, but it doesn't fix the flickering unless I turn the MVPUMode to default, so that means I'll get my FPs back to 60-70...

Did anyone get to fix this issue to keep +100fps on x2 HD6970s but yet fix also the flickering? (I don't mean tearing, even with vsync i get lot of flashing/flickering lights).

    Thanks.

You need to install the latest Catalyst Application Profiles from AMD web site.

It includes CFX fix for Crysis 2.

That way, you won't need to force CF or anything.

I have the same problem with my HD 5970 in CFX.

Just run it up this morning and saw all this flickering.
Disable CFX and all is good. Just take a performance hit :(

But yeah, if anyone has a solution, please drop it here >

Im already running Application Profile 4 which fixes Crysis 2.
Still no dice. Great performance tho! :)

I have CF 5870 and I can't even get Crysis 2 to run. Game loads and runs for like 30 seconds then crashes out. I turned CF off and still no luck. I am using 11.2 with the CAT4 profiles. I really hope there is something official from AMD or Crytek soon instead of all of these work around's.

I don't think you got what I meant.

CF works fine, without vsync both cards are at 99% usage most of the times.

The problem is, I get the SAME fps with 1 card or with both, it's a known bug that also occured in the Demo...

The solution was to use RadeonPro and change the MVPUMode to "Alternate Frame Rendering", that way, I went from an average of 60-65fps to an average of +100fps all the time.

The problem is, while I fixed the frame rate issue, now I have flickering back..

Yeah, I hope there's an official fix about it soon. Performance is good even with the bug where only 1 card is giving me FPS (Although both are at 99% usage....) as I can keep it above 60fps all the time, but I would rather like to get all the FPs possible lol.

Why would I need to do that?

According to other forums, Using RadeonPro and forcing Bioshock CFX profile appears to provide a work around.

    Ill try it out tonight.

    Did you listen to me?

Bioshock CFX profile does fix the Flickering issues... But it does not fix the frame-rate issues on 6970 CF.

But my friend with a 5970 says his works fine, he has more FPS than my 6970 CF unless I force the radeon pro custom profile, then I get +120fps all the time, but I get flickering :bang:

I fixed the flickering by forcing the Bioshock profile in radeonpro with my 6870 X2. Using 11.4 preview with 11.2cap4.

Can't put any MSAA though or the world becomes invisible. Game is ugly in 720p with no AA on my TV. Jaggies everywhere.

Here is some neat info from Steam.

You can still use most of the 'locked' commands by placing an autoexec.cfg with your system.cfg and placing the commands within the autoexec.cfg, requires a game restart though to take effect, some of the graphic related commands that work this way and their effects are as follows:

    variable: cl_motionBlurVectorScale

Man, don't tell me 60-70 is not playable. They are lock to 30fps on consoles and still everybody seem to be amazed.

Anything above 60fps is good for me, but I would be more happy to see the CF issues being fixed and see above 100fps on my 6970 CF like my friend with his HD5970 which is less powerful :bang:

It makes me mad to see my old HD5970 on my friend's PC is doing better at Crysis 2 than my 6970 CF...

I hope AMD gets it fixed soon.

    Listen?
    Its a forum! :p
(Sorry, my little attempt at humor)

I did miss your point about 99% GPU issue. Sorry dude :(
Just picked up on the same issue I had with the flickering.

I have heard the HD 6000 series are having a few issues.
Thats why im holding off for a while. Then ill grab the HD 6990.

You can fix the flickering by using RadeonPro and telling it to use the Bioshock CrossfireX profile on the crysis2.exe :)

I fixed it by doing that.

Overall I'm happy, even with the bug where both of my cards are at 99% but only 1 is actually giving me FPS in the game (Doesn't matter 1 or 2 cards, I get same fps as 1 card... But with 2 activated, both are at 99%, what the hell? :stewpid:), I can still keep it above 60fps all the time, so I'm not that sad, I just want it fixed and see above 100fps like my friend with his 5970 lol.

Did you tried other CFX profiles? Crysis, Dirt 2, FEAR, MassEffect, etc.

Your friends setup is unique. I'm having the same issue with my 5970 as are most with 5970, xfire and sli for that matter. If I turn xfire off, all is fine.

Yeah my 5870 crossfire can't get 100+ fps all the time like his friend either :(

I just want this fixed, I want to see all the potential from my 6970 CF on this game!!! xD

Wasn't there a command with the radeonpro for solving the flickering with the AFR-Friendly profile, or isn't that working anymore with the retail game?
