Well, the results speak for themselves:

Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra, 1920*1080, 4x aa, timessquare map, edgeblur and hires textures, tesselation clamped to x8:

    Single HD5870, Avg FPS 39.6 (scored on i7 930 at 4.4GHz)
    Single HD6970, Avg FPS 38.1 (scored on Core 2 Quad Q9550 4.0GHz)

I know it's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison as the CPU is slightly weaker in the second case, but this does rather prove your point. Even if the CPUs were the same I don't imagine the average FPS would go up much.

From this it looks like Crysis 2 DX 11 ultra performance is more-or-less on par betwen the two generations of GPU!

I can only conclude to agree with your point that AMD need to fix this and optimise their VLIW4 shaders for Cryengine 3 asap!

Cat 11.7 will be out soon but since this will only be the first release after patch 1.9 hit the streets I doubt we will se much.

I therefore call for an AMD performance Hotfix for this game!!!

Well, at least we now know for sure the HD5870's outperform the HD6970's in Crysis 2.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for an AMD fix before July is over... :nerd:

Thank you for your tests! :)

I get that effect also when clamping to 8x with the 11.6b hotfix drivers and CCC. More noticeable for me on character edges however.

I'm guessing it's from turning the tessellation down to well below the level it needs to be at in order to render the bricks properly. It's even worse at 64x.

I can set CCC to use application settings and still get this effect :(

I'd recommend using that Tesselation slider in Radeon Pro instead of CCC, works better.

The CCC slider didn't really work to me.

I tried lowering tesselation to X8 on Radeon Pro, performance was great and visually too, but I also have thos broken textures like crystal crap.

I also have some texture wave issues but they are minor.

I played for a few hours and there are several "holy ****" moments where graphics are really neat. I just wish there was better AA, especially in the distance where aliasing rules.

Performance is really so so but playable and that is with 8x tesselation factor through CCC. Has someone said it was not working in CCC?

im running 4gb of ram and this game after playing for 20 mins or so keeps maxing out my ram. Says I have to exit, if i persist then the pc will reboot due to no memory lol....it doesnt seem to be using the 4gb virtual memory ive set either, just the physical ram. anyone else getting this?

I only have 4gb but never seem to run out playing crysis. perhaps you have a lot of background services/applications running that hog your memory pre crysis ?

i got 4gb and get it yes, but ONLY if im running FFOX and other apps at the same time... Do as gavatron said and release some ram by disabling services u dont need

    Thanks for posting that.:)

I realized running this benchmark that the performance I had was screwed up somehow. So I removed everything from my cfg file except r_postmsaa and r_multigpu. Put 16x in CCC and ran the game. 60+ all the time at ultra.

I don't know if it has to do with the FOV or putting r_postmsaaedgefilterNV to zero but it wasn't scaling properly.

Some parts of the game are really impressive.

If there was decent AA, I'd say those are the best graphics ever. Right now, they're just great.

Hey thanks guys. I think it may have been mozilla being the problem but also disabled steam and coretemp. Seems to be fine now. Might have to disable afterburner next bit like to monitor performance

When I play it at ultra, Crytek HQ textures simultaneously with Maldo's HQ textures (w/o DX11) my physical RAM usage exceeds 5Gb and my pagefile exceeds 7Gb. With only one of the texture packs enabled, I shave off about 1 Gb off each.

You could use rivatuner monitor (with appropriate plugins enabled) in order to view pagefile and RAM usage. That's how I do it.

CFX scaling is a crap in DX 11 in this game...
