It was a cheap cash in and they got caught. Now they are pretending to care and fix it. Not enough time at this point with the new October release date. They'll upgrade a few textures and claim they took better care of it, but we know. And hey, maybe when the game tanks in sales, they can remaster their pc piracy excuse just like the original too!

I finally figured out how to get Crysis to run, from what I understand it's because my cpu doesn't support "3D Now!", found this information here down under Issues fixed : https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Crysis

It has the fixes there to download which makes the game ignore 3D Now! so it doesn't crash when starting the game.

You would think newer cpu's would support things older cpu's do... kinda strange *shrugs*

So, basically this is the tech feature video from 2007 with a switch logo on it. :D

Rookie developer mistake, assuming a feature is present based on the cpu vendor instead of checking for it.

There isn't much diference except on the use of SVOGI.
If you remember Crysis had a very limited coverage with Ambient Occlusion. This was particularly noticeable when we got inside a building and there were almost no shadows.

But truth be told, the Switch is very weak, so we can't expect much.
Let's just hope the PC remaster makes justice to the Crysis legacy.

I just installed the Steam version (which I have in account) on my modern Zen2 PC and it doesn't even attempt to start (just instantly crashes or self-closes).
Last time when I played it was 2017, and had a different CPU back then ( a Broadwell-E 6800K ), and on that CPU it seems to work fine.

Guess I'll have to wait for the Remaster until I can play the game again on my PC.

It won't be a problem on Intel because they never supported 3dnow anyway, i kind of assume the patched file is actually just forcing all cpu's to be recognised as intel.

They delayed the PC, Playstation and Xbox remasters, because of the backlash over the first trailer.
Basically this trailer showed that graphics were very little improved over the 2007 release.
For the Switch this is not a big issue, because that console in under powered.
But for the other consoles and especially for PC, this was unacceptable.

Yes and I don't have a Bin64 folder at all.
Steam seems to have a really old version...

I'm not paying for the game from GoG or something even if it's heavily discounted. Crysis original can RIP, I went through the story 3 times already, that's enough.
I was just curious if it works on my new PC. It doesn't.... end of story.

There is a fix for the 32bit version in case you missed it.

Fingers crossed the remaster doesn't have the same issue xD
