It's a remaster - not a remake.
I wonder if they saw the side by side comparisons of their own game and were like... ohh.. right... it does look worse, and then pushed back the release to make it worthy of the word Remaster?.
so it turned out to be even more downgraded then original in favor of new fancy post-processing.. xD
And now they're gonna rework it again? funny stuff.. I'm curious to see it now in the end
I just love how the delay letter is marked from Crytek, even though Saber Interactive are the ones doing the remaster.
Does that mean it is fake?
Just seems like they thought people would be cool with a delay so long as Crytek's name was behind it instead of Saber's.
Hmm Saber would probably need Crytek to approve the delay though and then feedback from MS Store which leaked info early followed by the trailers with the Switch version as the most impressive and the others a bit underwhelming plus also bugs and visual oddities and overall feeling a bit rushed or unfinished so as I've seen speculated it probably helped move Crytek (Well the higher ups that is.) to OK delaying the release instead of rushing it giving Saber more time to work on the game.
Could be a competent studio but they still need time and resources to make it work especially if they are doing multiple SKU's seen that several times just for the PC version after all.
Blood 2 is a neat example here if the developer accounts are accurate showing a late alpha at best build to Midway and asking for more time and Midway packing up and shipping that build as retail, surprised Monolith actually survived after a few issues like that but then No One Lives Forever and FEAR probably stabilized things for a while.
(It's clearly not that bad here but I'm good with Saber getting more time to finish this which hopefully will also reflect in the release version.)
So many ppl on FB using the smilie should all feel pretty stupid now.
GT Interactive, not Midway.
GT were so dead set on hitting that Halloween 1998 release date, they refused to give Monolith any extra time to complete the game. And even after release, only allowed Lith to update/patch the game for a very short window before ending post-release support.
NOLF completely turned things around for the company, after Shogo and Blood 2 things were a bit rocky for a little while. And instead of trying multiple projects at once, they put all their energy into one title.
From NOLF it was high profile contracts (Aliens VS Predator 2, TRON 2.0) and a sequel.
By the time FEAR and Condemned came around the company was in a place to really experiment and not have to worry so much.
Kinda reminds me of distant landscapes in DOOM Eternal...they look super low-poly too. I think Saber worked on that too... They know how to optimize, but they need to hide the LODs better.
I'm not surprised, Crytek doesn't have enough paid employee's left to remaster it.
As I said before, just struck me as if they thought people would be more understanding if the statement came from Crytek.
Where as people might be pissy if it came from Saber.
After Saber's work on the HALO: MCC release... some are not exactly happy with them.
Check this out, it doesn t even look close to sniper ghost warrior contracts,... lol
Interesting, I completed Blood 2 recently and thought something was really off. No where near as good as Blood.
So I finally looked at it, like Bird Box.
You don't need to see. Keep your blindfolds on to this madness.
lest switch will get an inferior version of the game, and modern consoles i guess.
The Crysis Remaster was built based on the old generation console (estimated)
It's just a guess, but this is hard to ignore so I wanna discuss about it.
I've been played comparing video a lot.
and there are several questions about it.
Why is this worse than original Crysis?
Why do they trying to hide that the modeling and texture getting worse?
then suddenly I realize that its dark, exaggerated graphic has simillarity with XBOX360(PS3)
and I thought like, 'wait, do they work on 360 version?'
so compared released game traliers by myself.
Here are the results.
Picture are PC original/Remasterd/360version from the top.
at this point, I stopped thinking. I'll tell you why.
First of all, it all has the same texture of objects in remasterd and 360 version
and there is no bloodmark on hostage's arm. it also is the same in remastered and 360's.
third. number of the book and the other objects are the same. only PC original version has a difference.
Look at the picture. You might gonna see that PC original is so much better than the others.
You don't know?
look more carefully to the plane's both side.
I couldn't find what is bothering me at the first place.
People said that soldier's pale face is the reason to insist Remasterd/360's similirity,
and I can't tell they're wrong without proof. but there IS more proof.
Look at the red circles. You might gonna notice there are some differnece only in PC original version.
if you see the valve, then you can find out all the gas can is palced in same direction.
this is what makes me so frustrated while watching tralier.
there are so many differneces. I think you guys also recognized, but let's talk about a few big things.
first. there are no animations of slough's movement.
second. shape of mouth.
still can't see?
look more carefully. he showed up opening his mouth from the beggining in original PC version.
but it is not in 360
and remastered version is the same.
it is made with such a shitty animation.
look at the details. its not in remastered and 360.
especially the flame.
and if you focus on this trailer, you'll find the quality of objects are also worse in remastred.

sorry but this whole remaster thing is getting waaayyyy too much attention.
They should've made Crysis4 with a big open world without loading screens and all sorts of vehicles.
