Higher impedance cans are harder to drive than their lower impedance counterparts, but it's not only about impedance, I believe sensitivity has a part in it as well. I have a Sennheiser HD800, it's a 300 Ohms cans, and my SB ZX drove it w/o any problem, my Asus Xoanr Phoebus did so likewise w/o any issue either.

Hello, maybe someone can help me.
I have a ZxR with the latest drivers, under Windows 7 64. I have the ASIO imput latency set around 5ms, but connecting a source (guitar with preAmp) to the dBoard through the AuxIn, I still get a some consistent latency. With the micIn I can't hear the same latency (no latency at all).
Am I missing something specific in the configuration?
    Is it a driver issue?
    Anyone have this issue?
The sad fact is I can't use my ZxR to record my guitar in my sequencer... I'm starting to regret to have changed my old but-no-latency X-Fi...

I had same issue the other day (windows 8.1) no sound and not listed, not even in device manager. it had installed a windows driver ? not sure how or why as I have windows updates set for me to choose what updates I want, anyway I uninstalled the the windows driver with in device manager and ran the blaster z web update driver again and selected repair install sound has been ok since.

I actually found good use for the acm controller. lol

my windows 98 machine doesnt have a physical volume control.

so I hooked up acm to the sound card on that machine, which is a audigy card

    works great.

Yeah, it's just a volume controller with built in mic after all. Quite decent controller - I haven't had any balance issues for example. Microphone on the other hand...

Never, EVER install drivers from Windows Update. Not a good idea. They might cause some problems, and from what I read on multiple occasions, they are stripped down versions of the official ones.

Wrecked my sound, distorted and muffled after installing these.

I added them to the update queue by accident.

There are no updated official (or Beta drivers) on Creative's site either.

Reverting back to the official drivers fixed it without issue.

It says "DBpro" for me, in addition to "ZXR", as I have the daughter board installed. Did any of you check the driver versions before and after installing the update? They offer it on Win 8 too.

I have the DT770 pro 80's. The 80's are easier to drive. You don't need the 250 ohm version. I tried the M50's also and the DT770's were superior IMO.. So I bought those and no regrets. Love them for music and games..

No issues here either, sound became more detailed and bass is more tight. Version number is higher and driver date too. ZXR and Beyerdynamic T1.

Nice to see that they are working for some but I have seen on the Creative Forums that others are having problems with distorted playback in movies/music which is exactly the problem I had.

I was not specific in my previous post so I just wanted to be clear that it wasn't distorting everything, just media playback (as far as I tested anyway).

There is still no official word on these drivers from anyone at Creative.

My Auzentech X-Mystique sound card finally died, and I just got this Z card (primarily for playing games). Most of the games I play are "old", which makes getting them to do their thing tricky (F.E.A.R. and Bioshock, for example, were vexing to say the least, especially in Windows 8.1). Still, I think the card sounds fine, and it definitely handles positional sound well (first time ever I got to enable EAX settings in Doom 3... the jury's still out about that though).

well... have any conclusion? Z is better than normal titanium? so Z no have DSP (own processor)? i always see difference in games more smooth with titanium vs onboard card... but and sound quality? i have one 5.1 analog system

no have cmss3d and crystalizer adjust?

There are new drivers dated 12/12/14 on Creative's website, it coincided with Windows Update alerting me of new drivers (I didn't install them from there as usual, though).

Anyone had a chance to test the new drivers on Creative's website?
