Um, WTF!? Why have they even released this? So hard to fix something this big even before releasing beta?

Well I've persuaded it to run on my Audigy 2 and it's really better. It looks like they fixed the 24bit playback issues -woohoo.

I'll link to an Audigy installer when completed.
    Thanks antonyfm for the heads-up.

Can do it yourself if you feel like adding all the necessary Audigy info to the X-Fi INF, seems Creative has gone away from a unified driver set.

BTW there is also a new Audigy beta as well,

QFT..oh well, I'll wait till the final release then as this feature is essential for me..maybe they'll sort it out.

The good thing is that Creative may have learned something from the DanielK's incident. At least I really hope so.

@antonyfrn, are you saying these driver give you the DDL and DTS output capabilities? Such as the DDL available on the Prelude?

DD + DTS decoding is not the same as DDL which is a realtime encoding technology. At least that is what I read from the release notes in the OP. Might be wrong.

Yes, I understand exactly what the drivers provide. I was asking if he understood what it meant as the post title isn't very clear. IIRC, Decoding was removed in Vista drivers for various reasons. Be nice to get that feature back for CL X-fi users. Many were wanting it on the Prelude also so the Prelude can decode and Encode. These features were available o the Audigy series IIRC. Some wanted it for using the card with PS3 and X-BOX's or any other device with a surround encoded digital output.

apart from some stuff not working.
they seem to have fixed some vista sound quality issues.
like default windows sound usualy popped instead off playing it right.

On the creative site I saw a beta console launcher under beta applications. It says that it increases the performance of the console and it fixes a few bugs under vista and xp. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Edit: I have installed the beta drivers and the beta console launcher. The performance of the drivers is quite good. It even seems my sound quality is higher then before.

The console also performs real good and they have changed the look a bit, it looks better than first in my opinion.
