The Sound BlasterX AE-5 also comes in a special white edition called PURE. Apart from its pristine white casing, the Pure Edition comes with four LED strips - three more than the standard version....

Daniel_K's modded drivers are all you need for a creative card for Windows 10.

Was kind of hoping the PURE would mean a more barebones edition without LEDS (also cheaper).

EDIT: lols, Creative's general manager actually said this:

"... And that’s not all, the AE-5 also takes the sensory experience beyond sound with a 16.8 million color light show.”

Holy hell, what's next? Some LSD strips?

Daniel_K's modded drivers are only X-Fi series cards
The problem with Windows 10 and fall update are with the creative apps

No I think that was going to be the Sound BlasterX AE-3 but so far nothing

I hate the my motherboard sound and miss my old card I sold. I was hopping in getting a new model but no way I'm blowing more than 50/60€ on a sound card.
I'll keep waiting for a sound card and not a Christmas tree.

Since I got this motherboard it's random whether or not my sound card is detected properly. Creative's (lack of) driver support has ensured the next time I get an external DAC/amp combo.

There are basically no issues with Z series in Windows 10 (I haven't had any). If something is broken then it's probably user error i.e. outdated drivers.

There are problems with the ZxR in Windows 10, based on the motherboard oddly enough. Half the time it detects as a different card, sometimes it's not detected at all.

I had awful problems when M$ changed their audio stack in Win 10 Beta for my X-Fi Gamer Fata1ity Pro.

Creative Labs came out with a new driver that simply did not work, nor the next one. I ended up using Daniel_K's modded drivers which worked flawlessly.

Hate to think I'd have to be relying on some possibility of a 3rd party unpaid individual's hard work to keep my expensive audio card working in the future !

I have been a SB user since the early SB 16 days and am Barely considering buying one more from them, but I am now looking at other vendors products...
