Just a quick question My laptop motherboard bit the dust and I found another motherboard but it has a different cpu in it. Mine is an Turion 64 x2 the board I want to put it in has an Athlon 64 x2 now from what I read the Turion uses an s1 socket which is just a mobile socket and the Athlon X2 uses an S1 but from what I read they are the same sockets just different names. Anyone out ther give me a hand before I buy this board. Answer BELOW
Not a hundred percent sure I was just looking it up right now. It's from an E-machines Laptop. The only difference between the 2 laptops that I could see was that the emachines one has a 1200m video card as opposed to a 1100m ati card.
I can't find the exact motherboard number for either of them. Though the specs are the same except for the cpu and the video card. All the inputs and outputs are the same. And in the same places.
If the board has a CPU in it, my best guess is that it would work with it. The first question was a test. xD I was half expecting you to quote a desktop model.
Unfortunately it doesn't come with the cpu for free. I found out that the Athlon chips run a bit hotter and use a bit more power so I would like to keep my Turion chip. The Bad board is from an Acer 5102 WLmi The new Board is from this E-Machiine http://www.emachines.com/products/viewlg.html?prod=n_eME620-5885 From what I gather acer makes e-machines. Even the web cam is the exact same.

Okay but the S1 socket does accept turion mobile and athlon mobile chips so it should work right. As I am using laptop boards.
Okay thanks I am going to pick up the board tommorow so I will let you know how it goes. I just talked to the guy and he said if it doesn'rt work I can bring it back. To everyone who reads this DO NOT BUY AN ACER LAPTOP they are garbage all I have found on the net is people complaining about their service and how bad their laptops are. From what I can figure out the HD controller goes bad on the motherboard. I can get it to work but I have to jiggle the HD and reboot. The laptop is 1.5 years old. ANd very well taken care of. The customer service sucks, good luck finding an english speaking service rep.
