    Hi folks,

I am looking to upgrade my CPU/MOBO in the coming month. My current system specs are

    Proc : Intel E4300 @ 1.8GHz

    mobo : Intel G945c

I am interested in AMD Phenom X4 AM3 CPUs and supporting mobos. My budget is about INR 17-18K. I would like any help and suggestions about the combo. My budget is restricted coz I'm also looking to upgrade my GPU, PSU before CPU/mobo upgrade. So, I would also like any suggestions about the mobos which support CrossfireX, if they fall in my budget(I can extend my budget by INR 2k max).

    Thanks in advance

    GPU:
    GTX 260 Core 216
    MSI 770-C35 - Rs.4800
    AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1GHz - Rs.5500
    Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz - Rs.2000
    Crosair 450VX - Rs.3900
    Sapphire HD4850 - Rs.6500

It would cost you 22K but this is the best your budget can buy.

Thnx for the fast reply. By 17-18K i meant it form proc plus mobo only. I was planning on having a HD 4850 or HD 4770 and a PSU to support it and I have my budget for them seperately. Of the AM3 series, I was wondering if X4 810 would be a good choice. I would like your advice on that. also would this mobo support crossfireX mode coz I was thinking that may be that would be a better deal as AMD on board graphics are also good and I don't want to let them go to waste.

I also found on this link
    http://www.theitwares.com/processors/processors.htm
where its shown X4 810BE(i suppose Black Edition). I would also like some light on it as I thought that there was no black edition for X4 810

Well, you have a good budget:) Lemme see..

    MSI 790FX-GD70 - Rs.10K
    AMD Phenom II X4 955BE 3.2GHz - Rs.13000
They alone exceed your budget but you wouldn't regret. If cannot afford 23K for them alone, go with Phenom II X3 720BE priced at Rs.7500

You GPU selection is fine, I'd say extend your GPU budget to 9K and get the 4870. For PSU, go with Crosair TX-650 priced at Rs.6500, but you get the quality:thumbup:

I'll try to reduce the total cost further...

Here's a DDR3 option, little bit over your budget but I used Tiger because I know they ship internationally. Can probably find it cheaper and of course you could go a lot cheaper if you opt for DDR2 and utilize your current RAM.

which is a better option X3 720BE or X4 810. and the mobo for the proc as well. as i said, it would be better if it supports hybrid crossfireX mode.
I probably would not be overclocking that much, and I want my system to be playable for at least 1-2 years

If you're not going to be doing much overclocking then I'd say the 810 for the extra core > the 720 for the +200mhz stock. As far as a mobo with hybrid crossfire X I'd go with this:

    http://www.gigabyte.in/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2887 = INR 9325

That is if you're planning on using DDR2.

I was searching a lot but i could not find out if HD 4850 was hybrid corssfireX capable or not. can someone help me out with it? As for the processor I was also preferring 810 for its extra core as you said.
