i always use to just shut down my pc. i've tried using sleep now because i've started to use the DVR capabilities of windows media center. when a scheduled recording approaches the computer will automaticlly resume form sleep and record the show then go back to sleep after some inactivity. BUT... when resuming back from sleep my cpu fan will run and continue to run at full speed! no matter what the load is on my cpu it runs at full speed. the shows that im recording are really early in the morning and the pc is in my bed room. the fan is so loud it wakes me up! what gives!
This is also happening to me, theres a 25%-40% chance my computer fans will go nuts after my pc wakes up from "sleep"
Is your system still overclocked? That maybe the issue. I'd reset the bios to default and see if there is a bios update for you mobo, before trouble shooting any more. EDIT: Latest bios for that mobo is the P33 bios.
Rootdown I would tell you to update your bios my friend had a EVGA 680i based board and it had the exact same issue, new bios update came out and it fixed the problem so I would say try that and go from there. http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/
hmmm sometimes the runs normally. i'd say about 5 percent of the time it runs normally after a resume from sleep.
