    Take it this way. If nVidia is right and 512GB/s HBM eats 40W, then AMD is band of Fools as they saved merely 20W by not using GDDR5.
    But still, My HBM tells different story. And AMD's materials tell different story. And as far as my memory goes, JDEC tells story very similar story to that of my Card and AMD's.

    what do we have here, another "retarded" graph.
    AMD contradicting themselves.

    Easy. That's 2013 Slide. Quite early. Secondly it still says 512GB/s @ 29W => 17.7GB/s per Watt.

    That makes AMD's very early predictions closer to real product than nVidia's statement at time ES already existed.

    yeah...in a world where being off by + %50 is close

    it also says your math (20W sawings compared to GDDR5) is off by more than 100%

    Not really. GDDR5 sporting 512GB/s in 2013 would eat mentioned 80+ W.
    But there were constant improvements in power efficiency. Lower Voltage, less current needed.

    Take your very card and tell me what peak Power consumption your memory has at stock memory bandwidth. Then increase it proportionally to 512GB/s. And you get your old memory results.

    or simply use GDDRX5

    we gonna close this down? ...
    or you gonna insist that the side who already has HBM2 in their products is clueless, and the other side is spot on?

    even after failing to offer any evidence they the two are talking about the exact same thing?

    I'm doing video editing and PC game dev., i can tell you i need more CPU power ! :nerd: I've already spent over 16hours encoding a single 4K video. and Game shipping also take hours.
    I also would like to be able to run some advanced particle simulation in Maya (Bifröst), all this cost a lot in performance.

    Well, it's obvious really. To get it to go in and out faster, it needs to be longer.
