Hi guys, just a quick question, maybe you can answer for me. If this is in the wrong thread, please feel free to adjust it in the correct one. ( sorry for my bad english ) Im planning to build a new gaming-rig atm from a Q6600 to an i5 2500K. In my current PC i am using a Corsair TX950 as PSU, but i reading alot that the TX 950 isn't compatible with ASUS motherboards.. I am planning to get a ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 -=Rev.3.0=- wil this be a problem ? And just for the record i am NOT planning to change my PSU i am very glad with its performance Any answers, i would really appriciate it!
Ask Asus. Anything they say is binding. So if they say yes and it doesnt work, you will be allowed to order something else or have a refund for the part that doesnt work. If you are in the UK, you get 7 days to return everything for a full refund, no questions asked, as long as you bought it long distance (over the phone, internet...).
Allright , i'll email them ... if it doesnt work no big loss, love the design of the motherboard.. Im from the Netherlands, same policy as in the UK. Thanks for the reply.
where are you reading that these PSU's are not compatible?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! its the standard 24pin and 8pin connections....... It will fit...
Posts like this raise a doubt http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/270847-10-corsair-good Seems peculiar to me but its best to be safe, contact Asus is the best option.
Well maybe i asked it in the wrong ...what i meant was that ASUS motherboards P6 series ( Windows7 64x) were having problems with the Corsair TX950.. thats what i read in user reviews.. So i am affraid that when i want to buy a ASUS motherboard the PSU will have conflicting problems etc. etc.
it may be the odd few, i had a quick look and couldn't find anyone having problems............. most likely any probs would have been fixed with a bios update.......... I would give it the green light and say there would be nothing to worry about
TX950 did NOT work on my motherboard. I'd be really careful... I got a complete refund tho. Quite nice from my main etailer.
ahhhh found this, looks like there awas an issue, but its been resolved.... Source seems it was an issue whilst installing windows........ think you chould be ok now though, especially with a Rev 3 board
Great news!! and great find! Didn't knew that... so its fine and i can go buy my SABERTOOTH P67 Rev ? Great ! thanx for your reply!
Yours is an older PSU is it not? This means it could be one of the batch that doesnt work, certainly worth checking. There may be justification for a warranty return if its limiting your market choices. See what Asus say first. You know a bit more now and can push them for more info.
Rev 3 = fixed sandy bridge cipset bug. As for how well TX950 works, buy Gigabyte or something other than Asus and be done with it ? And should be fixed, many other stings should be fixed too, before there is confirmation that it works, I would not be so sure about it.
