Isn't there a restriction on ram speeds when having 2 sticks in each channel?, like they default from 1600 down to 1066?, I read a users comments here suggesting this, if so, why would anyone buy 6 sticks?

It makes sense when working with huge databases or tons of VM's.

Isnt 12gb about the max a desktop can handle? What M/Bs even hold 24gb? Except servers...? Somebody enlighten me to a hi-end desktop M/B that supports this mem & has 6 dimm slots. Id like to see that bad boy.

    This is awesome.
With that much space, you could ram drive entire games.

I can't wait till a motherboard manufacturer creates a mobo with a bios setting to create a ram drive from within the bios, that would then exclude that ram from the rest of the system. AND keep the ram powered and active, even if the PC restarts or is powered down, using an external power supply.

My Mac Pro can handle 32GB of RAM.

I use 12GB at the moment, and I can say I use every single piece of it.
