Intel is so cheap nowadays. Can't they make 1000 Euro gaming CPU?

 

Why 679? For "good" marketing purposes, make a $666 processor and change naming into "i9-9999KO".

...and I am pretty sure that when AMD 3950X will finally be available in stock in shops - probably in the summer of 2020 by how things goes now with 3900X... - 3900X will lose this trophy in its favor.

 

I can set same price tag on pencil. Specific store price that's far away from MSRP is irrelevant here as it can be since you already know MSRP.

 

I could buy Ryzen 3700X and a decent gaming GPU for that money...
I'm very happy with my 2600, my first AMD PC ever.

 

For dat price i add something more and can have 3950X.

i9 9900k msrp: $479 -on amazon: 474.99
amd 3900X msrp: $499 - on amazon: between $780 and $999

So...why care about MSRP so much when the reality hits you in the pocket???
Also high prices are manufacturer's fault because of low availability and from what I see even at "MSRP" top gaming AMD CPU is more expensive than top gaming Intel CPU + add to this a more expensive gaming motherboard with X570 and all the bells and whistles and you have a winner!

So the trophy for the most expensive gaming CPU goes to AMD...

Don't buy from unscrupulous scalpers. Respectable stores don't raise their prices so easily just to satisfy their own short-term greed, while at the same time giving their old customers the middle finger as if there's no tomorrow. 3900X's price hasn't significantly changed since the beginning at my usual store over here, despite the long queue.

 

Glad I got my 9900kf for $420 brand new.

Tho, you seem to assume that price on some shop is adequate and representative. Maybe you would buy. And you base your entire "logic" on it. But it actually is not logical.
All you write is subjective attempt on conjunction of two unrelated things to say that intel's expensive binned chip is actually cheap while AMD's currently unavailable chip is expensive.

Good question but I was under the impression that intel already answered this in the hitman 2 dlc demo where they showed an i9 9900ks running with all cores at 5 GHz for the entire length of the demo minus the occasional dip when changing scenes???

 

I'm dying of curiosity to see this running on cheaper Z370 boards with 4 phase VRM that start to choke at 150W.

 

Your complaint is a bit confusing, "unseen 3900x", and what trophy are writing about?
But I am sure you can buy a 3950x in november, you dont have to be nervous about that.
And probably for, near, MSRP price.

 

I don't think that anyone will buy a 679 euro cpu and run it on a cheap motherboard with an outdated chip...

 

Mmmhm, don't know which Amazon you buy from but on .com the 3900x is $ 565 and the 9900k is the same as on your Amazon $ 475.
Totally understandable for me because almost everybody with the cash to spend wants a 3900x, and apparently Intel can meet demand with the 9900k. Once the 3950x is out on the shelves the 3900x will come down in price.
I must inform you also that B450 and X470 motherboards are suited for ZEN2.
