So it's $50 US cheaper than the 5950X. I'm very much looking forward to your review of these 2 going head to head.

In before far less demanding power AMD CPUs to get 100+ bucks cuts :V

This looks like more a Bulldozer than a Ryzen moment from Intel..

It's hard to say anything much about the prices before seeing Guru3D reviews. It was already very sad that AMD raised the prices considerably with the 5000 series, even if it wasn't that surprising. I'd say Intel planned these prices very carefully in relation to the Ryzen 5000 prices. For healthy competition's sake, let's hope it turns out to be real, not just an image Intel tries to build. I suppose when Intel finally returns to the HEDT market, those CPUs will also have prices set to directly compete with certain Threadrippers.

undercut the competition because you know that your future product doesn't even beat the current one from the competition?

Good thing you don't need a K model anymore these days, as there is little to gain from an OC.

Better get to get 65 Watt Model and get the same gaming performance.

Hardly. BD could never touch the competition at the time (SB) and is reason why it was dirt cheap.

gonna try to stick with my 5800X until the next console generation (by then we could be on AM6 and DDR5 will possibly be supplanted by DDR6) and I also want to see if Intel gets its nodes and power efficiency back in order by then (probably 2025 or 2026).

I was expecting those to be a little cheaper.

Either Intel is very confident about the performance of those parts or they are simply expecting people to buy everything they release because of the lack of wafers to make rival products...

Bit of both. They know they have the superior product but want to come in just low enough to still undercut AMD and take back market share while keeping their margins high. There's just no reason for them to further lower the MSRP if they know the product will sell regardless.

I just hope this will push the AMD prices DOWN! I am good with AMD Ryzen 5x00 at these prices!

Why are you calling these prices "MSRP"? This is ONE retailers pricing and if you are familiar with Microcenter they often price $30-50 below MSRP. In other words, the real prices may actually be $30-50 higher - personally I would guess $30 because that brings the prices to a neater $699 and $499.

Either way you are gonna get bent over and shafted with the price of motherboards and DDR5 also for these chips.

I've got a bad feeling these chips and DDR5 memory will be the Scalpers next conquest. Since the pandemic PC part prices have sky rocketed and made high end systems even rarer.
