I just got my new system up and running (C2D E6320, ASUS P5N-e SLI, 2gb DDR2-800) and I started overclocking. So far I've gotten to core to 2.8ghz so it syncs with my memory (FSB:MEM 2:1), but I'm starting to get concerned with the temperatures the cores are reaching during stress testing.

I was told that I should not exceed 60c, so I've made sure it doesn't reach that point, but it is getting awfully close, 57-58c while running OCCT (idle @ 35c)

Should I be worried about those temps or is going over 60c not a big deal?

personally i try to stay below 60c but you have to keep in mind that orthos/prime stress temps are much higher than anything youll likely ever see in realworld.
if your running the stock hsf i would look at getting a solid aftermarket cooler for it.the stock sink isnt good for much more than where your at tbh.

Agree with maxfly, you may also want to consider better cooling for your NB
