I just got my new system up and running (C2D E6320, ASUS P5N-e SLI, 2gb DDR2-800) and I started overclocking. So far I've gotten to core to 2.8ghz so it syncs with my memory (FSB:MEM 2:1), but I'm starting to get concerned with the temperatures the cores are reaching during stress testing. I was told that I should not exceed 60c, so I've made sure it doesn't reach that point, but it is getting awfully close, 57-58c while running OCCT (idle @ 35c) Should I be worried about those temps or is going over 60c not a big deal?
personally i try to stay below 60c but you have to keep in mind that orthos/prime stress temps are much higher than anything youll likely ever see in realworld. if your running the stock hsf i would look at getting a solid aftermarket cooler for it.the stock sink isnt good for much more than where your at tbh.
