Last supply you'll buy because after that you'll be stuck living under a bridge...

Also, I think if you order now, you only pay $499.99 processing and handling fee.

All kidding aside... I love a great power supply as much as the next person (I have a Seasonic Platinum 1000 in my main rig) and would only use something with a 7+ year warranty on my personal machines, but $1000 for a PSU? Maybe for the server market?

Hopefully, there's some trickle down to the consumer market at some point with regard to the engineering innovation?

No gold plating... 0/10 would not buy.

But seriously, Seasonic offers 12 years warranty on their PRIME PSU lineup so I'd rather give them my hard earned money for a highly reliable PSU.

Coolermaster is just milking the golden cow with this one.

1000+ psu usualy are need for multi-gpu setup, like for crypto currency miner rig, That psu have 10 gpu connectors, like for 5 gpu each 2 connector, and 6 sata/molex like 5 for powered risers one for disk... But miners look for ROI, who would buy it for 999 usd? I bought coolermaster 1200W 80+ for 82$ for my rig...

    1000$ for a PSU?!?!

I believe I can buy at LEAST 4 (actually more, I've never had a requirement to buy PSUs that pricy) new other PSUs for that money, and they will serv me much longer...

HH: "...what might very well be the last power supply you'll ever buy..."

^^^ Exactly first thing that comes to my mind when I saw that 999 USD price tag, if I ever buy this one (no way btw, for that kind of money I almost could get married for the second time lol) I can expect to be dead by the sunrize... if my lady get her hands on that PSU bill.

But they build it, guess someone would eventually gonna buy it!?

"custom designed power conversion circuits" = flux capacitor?

For 999 the PSU must contain a flux capacitor.

Would be fun to see a review of it, internals too especially the mixed-heritage components. :p

    "80% Japanese components"

Could just be how I'm reading that particular line though. :D

Just purchased a Seasonic Prime with a 12 year warranty. I could eventually buy six and be covered for 72 years and have spent less. Spending $999 for a psu...they did not even have the decency to offer me dinner before asking me to bend ****.

Personally I got a Corsair RM1000(i) - Honestly I don't think I ever need a new PSU after I bought that one - for my personal rig anyway.

I bought it for €190 when it came out - it has 7 years warranty, so I could buy 5 of em and srill have cash to spare, and 35 years warranty :D...
I would never spend 1K on a PSU, it's just bonkers even if it was made fully out of gold they could keep it XD

I have bought lately a new Seasonic SS-1000XP 80Plus Platinum 1000W for 66 bucks in US currency, it smelled fresh chemistry but was probably fixed (a boiler relay or something). It works and normally would have like 7 yrs warranty.
There is a hidden joy of having such an indestructible beast in a PC, especially when gaming - fan does not always have to spin, and even when it does I had to check it with a flashlight because there is no noise and I did not know if it even works.

It definitely will not be the last power supply I ever buy because I will never buy it in the first place... That is just ridiculously stupid, $1000 for a psu!

Somehow I don't think the home/office PC market is what they're aiming for with this. I can build a pretty nice computer for that price, or as several have pointed out already, buy a top notch new PSU with 5-7 year warranty every 5-7 years and be covered for a few decades.

I have had more power supplies fail me than any other component in my 24 PC years. And none of those were noname brands, but rather respected names. One of the dying PSUs grilled two HDDs on death too. I would really consider buying this thing for my next rig in a few years time.

well, I'm 9 years in on a PC power and cooling silencer 500watt "5yr" supply. The first model, as i see there was a mk2 and mk3. It's powered a handful of different rigs, no problems yet. funny in that, i just searched it, to familiarize myself with it again, and I come across old forum posts on sites where people were saying how it was a crummy unit. They were wrong. Can't remember what it cost me, but i'm sure it was far south of 1k. In no way does it cost 1k to make a quality unit.
now that i have posted this, it will surely kick the can....
