Isn't it still fundamentally the same engine as Quantum Break though, Northlight? Basically it's that engine with RT added. And in fairness Quantum Break was an incredible-looking game at the time but suffered so many technical issues.
Yes but RT takes this game to a totally different field of assets altogether, the whole scene is just incomparable to it off
You need to use ReShade. Since CAS is open source, it'll run on anything. It works great for everything. Best sharpener there is. It clears up TAA or DLSS blur like magic. For instance, in Deus Ex Mankind Divided, the sharpening filter in the game is horrible. They use it to clear up the TAA blur. So turn off the in-game sharpening and inject CAS with ReShade. Night and day difference. I don't know what the issue with DLSS is in Control, but it seems a bit too blurry. I had to crank the CAS setting up to like 0.9 within ReShade to really clear it up. Normally it's like half that for a 1440p display.
Just use ReShade to inject AMD CAS. Normally, I use between .4 and .7 on the first setting. The default is 0, which isn't off; but it's too subtle. I normally get into the game, and crank up that setting until a close ground texture gets sharper but before you get ringing or other over-sharpening artifacts.
After all this time I installed the game on PC seeing I had via GOG ultimate edition, I think I prefer the PC version over the PS5 Versions, PS5 has NVME drive yet PC version is installed on SATA SSD and that load faster then ps5 verison.. Performance wise I get 1440p get 60FPS till thing start exploding ( if i turn of MSAA is much better) but if I use 1440p and 1080p with MSAA x2 render I get 60 fps completely stable.
Thanks for the heads up,never would have known about the update.Thought it was released in Feb 2023 but I am going to check out the video below.Looks like it is a mod. Control PC's Stealth Upgrade: HDR Support, Improved RT, Better DLSS!
Digital Foundry made a decent showcase video about the mod and how a guy worked on it as forms of his portfolio for his Remedy job application, but Control was already shipped. So they allowed him to work on it partially on work time hours to "upgrade" the engine, and that's what they decided to release to the public as a general test. I think that's pretty awesome.
Oh this sucks,so I loaded up the Control game. On my main PC Monitor Samsung 85" Neo Qled I can not get rid of screen tearing in cutscenes but it is fine in gaming.G-sync/VRR/Vsync is enable on the monitor.Happens in default and modded game. FU Samsung lol EDIT-Turning off Vsync and enable Fast sync with Max framefrate limit has removed 98% Screen tearing in cutscenes, weird one but helps. Other monitor are fine but I only tested 3 total. LG 65" OLED/Gigabyte Aorus Anyway the CONTROL - HDR+Ultrawide+DLSS+RT Patch seems fine but only played for 30 mintutes, need more testing but on the PCGaming Wiki some people are reporting that Ray tracing is noisy and the modder filoppi was going to fix this in next patch.
