Yeah it's good, around 6 hrs in myself and the game's properly starting to click.
Story seemed a bit too wtf at first but now I really want to dig deeper.

Best character is Ahti hands down, I laughed out loud at some of the Finnish aphorisms clumsily (on purpose) translated to English.

(Btw character is both modeled of and voiceacted by Finnish actor Martti Suosalo.)

RT is definitely something you need to see in realtime, a bit like HDR. Compressed YouTube videos don't do it justice.

In time the technology will really come into its own when Devs start building their games from ground up knowing it's there day 1. Like the enhancements it could bring to a horror games atmosphere is something I'm looking forward to.

I keep switching RT reflections on every now and then to see the difference between normal SSR and RT.

The biggest reason I default to RT off alongside the performance cost is there is a notable delay in reflections updating when you move the camera compared to SSR.
When I started noticing it that was a deal breaker.

But yes, in places RT reflections make a huge difference to SSR.

Would like to see the game with rt on but its definitely not a deal breaker. Control is one of my favorite games this year and played the entire thing on medium-high details with rt off, still amazing.

Tweet about increased quality in Control from Digital Foundry' Alex Battaglia.

Alexander Battaglia on Twitter: "Thanks to @Mr_An0nym0us here. I will definitely be making use of this in a future Video if I can - amazing work by the community here on PC to unlock these variables for forward looking Potential. Infinite scaling in this game for eternity :)" / Twitter

anonymousgamer on Twitter: "Hey @Dachsjaeger, were you made aware that you can turn up the RT quality in Control via a couple mods? You can control the amount of samples the game uses for each of its RT effects. I've made a couple quick comparison screenshots demonstrating higher quality RT" / Twitter

Finally got around to purchasing last month and just recently completed main story arc. Once I started and got dug in it was very difficult to put the game down. Being a Remedy title, I had some preconceived notions of what to expect and thankfully was not let down. Visuals and tech aside, great game with enjoyable mechanics and fun/quirky plot. Great game.

The Ashtray Maze was done so well, one of my favourite scenes to a game.

Last weekend, I played the mission on the Ashtray Maze. And it was amazing.
The music, the level, the combat......so good.

Poets of the Fall are always amazing.
I love the stuff they do as "Old Gods of Asgard".

Alan Wake and Max Payne 2 as well.

Remember the janitor in MP 2 listening to Walkman and humming along?
    That was POTF.

Same song was in the credits IIRC.

I like Poets' music too. Carnival of Rust is one of the best songs I've heard.

The Fondation is very repetitive and has lots of filler. But it fleshes out a bit of the main story.
You get 2 new abilities, but they are only used on this DLC.

The AWE dlc is significantly better. And resembles more like the main game.
It also has a strong connection to Alan Wake. If you played it, you will find this dlc's story more engaging.
There is a main bad guy, which you fight several times, but it's a bit repetitive because you have to repeat the same strategy with lights and power nodes, several times.

Just bought this and gotta say the ray tracing does make a difference. So far zero complaints about the performance either at 1440p everything maxed with DLSS quality (quite impressive tech).

    Suosalo FTW.

Had to take a stab at this for $27 bucks in the Steam sale.

With the 3080 OC and Ultrawide (no dlss), RTX on Medium (two settings unchecked) i get anywhere between 60-85, with it averaging around 75 most of the time.
With gsync and raytracing its very smooth, and with dlss off the detail is much better in almost every way.

The game itself is interesting..bon its face its a very unassuming game. The environment being in the building as it is is very 'basic', for lack of a better term, but the gameplay definitely hooks you, as does the story, and the atmosphere makes up for the lack of exciting environments (perhaps they get more interesting later in game)

I'm still early in but for a sub-$30 game its pretty outstanding. Also, plays really well and feels really optimized and solid.. no bugs, just smooth gameplay. Remedy has done a really good job with it!

Control's environment design is best in class.
