u can't compare a PC to a console, the PC video card itself cost's more than than any of the consoles.

This message was edited by Jaster on 27 Oct 2001 09:19 PM

But isn't Microsoft's X-Box including some version of a GeForce card? If I had to choose any console as my preference, I would choose the X-Box. I think it might have the horse power to do what most consoles have lacked up to this point. I also read somewhere that it has the ability to be upgraded...therefore making it a cross between a PC and console. That's my opinion anyway.

    - hmm, my title is little misleading as i've included PC's - but with the advent of the X-Box, PC and console gaming is becoming blurred. What can be played on one can be played on the other - so it's simply like comparing diffent, say Cd players. The games the same - just the machine thats different.

    I voted gamecube. Why ?

a) It's the price of a video card.
b) They're moving from a "kids only!" mentality and are targetting all group ages (resident evil 0-1-2-3-veronica-4)
c) I can setup a network within the 10s it takes me to plug 4 controllers (the squared screen takes some getting used to and some squintting but man is it ever so much fun!)
d) I won't be putting more money into Bill's pockets
e) ergonomical gaming pad *cough*xbox's suck*cough*
f) RARE RARE RARE RARE I.E. goldeneye, perfect dark, anything kong related

"yeah but the gamecube doesn't have a built- in Dvd !"

So what ? Those found in the x-box and ps2 are of earlier generations than the real ones that sell for 199$CDN ...don't forget the gamecube is going for 199US$ (which is I think is 100$US less than the xbox and ps2)

Plus you have to pay for the dvd remotes !

Bottom line is, if you're gonna buy a console and you have the funds for only one, make it the gamecube...otherwise buy 'em all and that sparkling new athlon xp you keep dreaming about!
