Figured as much but I'm always eager to hear arguments for this type of train of thought... for entertainment purposes.

Yes they can. If last year this time you sold 300, but this year there are 700 orders and you can make 500, there are both shortages and record amounts of sales.

If 500 is more than 300, and 300 was the highest they had delivered in the past, then they delivered a record amount.

Compare the numbers to the 10 series though... the 30 series have been out for over half a year, so if the 30 series were to match the 10 series numbers by the time the 40 series launches, the 30 series should already be well over 2%... but it aint - far from it.

Nvidia might be selling an unprecedented amount of gpu's, but it aint to gamers.

is it ? and did they ?
you're saying it like you were sure.
did they actually send more units to pc gamers than previous gens ? cause that's what they're claiming.or did they collect money for them ?
I don't know,I'd be careful with statements like this.
and how is 50% of ampere owners "buying $299 up" ? there is no sub $300 card.

You can't buy GPU right now -> that's the fact
But they produce this GPUs daily ;) So where are those?

Like it or not they shiping GPUs to miners. Period.
We need to wait for 4xxx series or Used after mining 3xxx for half the price.
    Gamers win IMhO -> 3080 for 400-500USD or new 4080 for 699USD :p

all that matters is how profitable crypto is,how much silicon tsmc and samsung can produce and whether the manufacturer and the retailers actually want to sell you the card.
what sku or generation it is doesn't change anything.

@hh Why are we listing power number as TGP/TBP, when clearly all those numbers are TBP?

So this will probably match a 3090 in gaming but with 12gb less vram. The 3080 and 3090 are so close already that i doubt this will be ground breaking.

Say the 3090 gets 100 fps and the 3080 gets 92 fps and the 3080Ti will get 96 fps. So whos gonna try get one? Not anyone with a 3080 surely. Or maybe that's who will get these by selling their 3080 for good money, idk.

There is also room for a 3070 Ti, or was that one confirmed as well recently.

Tbh i thought a 3070Ti would of been released first. Surely it'd out sell the 3080/Ti by a huge margin or maybe they get better money selling less cards with prices over a £1000+ i don't know.

You are right though there's room for a 3070Ti in the market and i think it would sell very well.

It's in their fiscal results. But I agree about the attempt to up their value about the 299$ segment.

    so what
are all the cards they got paid for shipped ?

they're selling 3070ti dies for gaming laptops not desktop
smart move imo from their perspective
