Okay, so is anyone else a little suspect by just how much care and attention this seems to be getting? I mean this is an EA property, yet it looks like they are doing.... work, actual stuff to make this a legit and worth while remaster rather than the usual spit on it, polish the graphics until they are a bit shiny and then throwing it out of the door. I usually can;t be bothered with the whole remaster thing as it usually amounts to nothing more than what I described above and then hoping that nostalgia brings in the cash. In this case however I am interested, not enough to pre order it just yet but I am keeping an eye on this.

Can we change the title of this thread to the correct spelling of the game please? It is really annoying me.

I'm not a fan of this series... or this genre of games.

But, this did remind me. I own an original Big Box release of C&C: Red Alert 2.
And, by original... I mean... the first releases. The 2000 box, that features the Twin Towers... with an explosion in front of them, and a plane flying at them.
    The box that was discontinued.

Thing is, I have zero idea where I got it...
But, knowing of it's rarity... it's one I'm going to hang on to. Even though I have no love for the series.

I am not going to diss you for not being a fan of C&C. To each their own. But I really just don't get it.

The original C&C was years ahead of it's time. It was up there with the Wing Commanders and Ultima Onlines of it's era. Hollywood blockbuster experiences with proper gameplay. I thought everyone played them and everyone loved them. Again, I'm not here to bash you, I just don't understand. I thought everyone loved these games.

Comand and Conquer (the original) and Red Alert 2 were simply mind blowingly good games to me. Red Alert 2 especially.

I don't like RTS games. Never have. It has nothing to do with the quality of the game, just... personal preference...
I've never liked those types of games.

I played my fair share of 2D CnC back then... When 3D was barely a thing , then Crash Bandicoot happened, and i can't go back.

So i will still get the game, but canceled my 25th Anniversary Edition, and you know what? I actually made money!

The initial pre-order cost me € 181,77, and they refunded me € 191,03.

So now i basically get the digital release for 50% Off :D

rts and 4x got played to death back in the day, hence many of were burnt out on 4x when they were clogging up shelves in game isles because everyone was crapping the things out.

the sid meyer one i played the most but then never gaf to finish it and never touched C&C at all. 4x are boring. civilization is the best production and name wise and still i see the little videos and tech trees and done.

    give me total war.

The Command and Conquer games were the games I was just born into; I was around them while they were being played by older siblings/family relatives until I was old enough to know what a mice does. I played every C&C games and C&C 3 Kane's Wrath was the last I enjoyed. I upgraded from an fx 5200 to an fx 6200 (modded it so it ran like a 6600) just to play C&C 3 on medium-high settings at 1024x768. Every C&C game after Kane's Wrath is a joke.

If you don't use Origin on a regular basis, why not go with Steam?

Still playing RA2, Emperor(what an underrated game) generals and RA3.

RA TS remastered is definitely a good step towards reviving CNC series, i just hope they have plans to remaster RA2 and release a new REAL cnc game.

You don't have to install Origin to play the Remaster on Steam.

You just need to link your account.

I think I'll go Steam on this one, since it doesn't require Origin running, and (more importantly) it has Workshop support. I really hope this works out, both games are classics.
