has anyone experienced this on the new kepler cards? if coming from a 560/580 that had the issue in conjunction with the psu you were using as well.

    Yes.

Also had it on a GTX480, and a Radeon HD7970., usually when the card is running fully loaded in a benchmarking utility.

My PSI for all those was a PCP&C Silencer 750. (60A on the single +12V rail.) I don't think it was coming from the PSU.

My GTX560Ti had coil whine, my HD7870 has coil whine.... My OCz ModXStream Pro 700watt had coil whine.....my SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze has coil whine.... It's just a matter of whether or not you're sensitive enough to hear it. Pretty well every mid-range or high-end card is going to have coil whine. In most cases, the frequency is high enough that it goes completely unnoticed.

Yes, but it's very faint (identical pitch as my 6950).

If I put my ear up to the card at idle there's a slight "pinging" noise and under load it slightly increases, but is than drowned out by the cards fan.

I had an HD 7970, it's coil whine was very noticeable. It buzzed at idle and buzzed even louder when gaming. I could hear it buzzing from 10-15 feet away at idle.

I dont have any whine, but before i used to have a SilverStone Olympia 750w and that thing was squealing like a pig everytime i started a game (on my GTX 480 and my GTX 580)... When i replaced it with my current OCZ 1250W, everything went silent. Now with my GTX 680 is still silent. ;)

    I have a GTX680 as well and I don't hear a coil whine. It's whisper quiet!
