This game is a typical quick and dirty game made to earn some quick cash on the console market with a pc version added for ****s and giggles. Made by a developer with no vision or ambition. I mean, this game reminds me of at least 10 other titles and it brings absolute nothing new or interesting to the table and it is poorly executed. Luckily for the developers the target segment (8-15 year old) is not that critic and demanding. This port has consolitis written all over it. Just take the menues: press "t" and "y" and "e" to enter certain menu sections. Jeezes.. I give it 1/10.
It's probably not what you want to hear, Vandrende Pind (cool name!), but FUEL really is best played with the Xbox 360 controller then you'll get all the proper button mappings for the menus, i.e. A to select, B to go back, etc., etc. I do agree though that the game is yet another lazy port to the PC, one that couldn't even get the AA setting right because it bloody well doesn't work at all. It can be fun though provided you skip the dull free roaming bits and just complete the races and challenges from the menus.
I found a post for a work around to get my logitech g25 wheel to work. Not near as compatible as TDU or GRID. But steering, gas pedal and brake/reverse pedal work. No vibration or clutch but a whole lot better than keyboard. link: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5365894&postcount=1 Also this one will link you to a work around for the MOMO wheel: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5379245&postcount=18
Yeah, you're right about a 360 controller would help. I just don't like that the devs pretend a 360 controller is a standard pc peripheral or are too lazy make proper menues and controls. Cool you like my name - Do you know what it means? It means phasmatodea, stick insect.
i rate this game 8/10 -2 point for poor handling and bad physics if the dev. could make the handling as good as DiRT or GRID, i would give it a 10
I rate this game 3/10, good idea but the gameplay was so basic and dull that it felt less like a racing game and more like the less than average driving section of any action game.
..I should have went with the other posts, about this being bad. Indeed, it is. ..Feels completely pointless, waste of time. If you're looking for an off-road game, I'd suggest MotorM4x. ..Although, i wouldn't put MotorM4x in the same category as Fuel. More of a off-road sim, using 4WD, lockers..etc
Well, this seems to be another one of those games on steam that looked like it was coming, then didn't look like it was coming, and now, it's on steam, randomly, without much of a word about it, lol, but yeah, it's on steam now, but like said above and i agree with due to most people i have talked with about it, people say it's not a good game and don't bother with it http://store.steampowered.com/app/12800/ - 39.99
agreed with a lot of folk here. the gane looks good, and the open worl map is VAST, but the actual races just don`t do the game justice.... so much potential wasted, its a shame.... in my eyes just now, codemasters are up there with Ubisoft..... i`d expect this from EA no Codemasters...
So, today I tried the demo, just for sh!ts and giggles and here's what I saw... I presume it's a driver issue, right? I'm using 8600GTS and the latest nVidia drivers... NVdia drivers seem to get sh!tter by the time...
186.91 drivers here with no issues. Yes, this is a big let down product from Codemasters. I just hope this is not a sign to come when DIRT2 is released. 100% console that appears they spent only 5 minutes converting it to PC.
Well I bought this game for just £5 brand new from GAME yesterday and I think it is great so far. It reminds me of PURE but open world and with less fun handling and physics. Two things that really do let the game down. Other than that the missions are varied and the landscape is frikkin' huge with plenty of stuff to find. Love the graphics, especially the build up of mud on my PURE-a-like character. Bargain of the month award from me.
anybody knows a possible LOD fix for this game? i found some mod Refuled. It looks quite fresh (21.may.2011) with allot of changes, but there is nothing about LOD tweaks.. http://www.moddb.com/mods/fuel-refueled
