IMO. That 7800GT will whizz through CoD2 at a reasonable resolution. Why do you want 80 FPS when you never notice the differene between 50 and 80?? DX9 has some great effects.
What is my X850XTPE (I'll OC even more) capable of running CoD2? Ignore my 512MB RAM...I'll be getting 2GB soon
I dont' know much about the ATI cards but I have heard guys also running in DX9 with no problems while at a resonable resolution with your card (And that is when card is not overclocked). Have you played the game, if so what settings are you running at the moment and what is the gameplay like?
Not tried the demo yet. I'll get it soon enough. I'm expecting to have to keep the res to 1024x768 for smooth gameplay though.
The water and reflections get changed the most. Look at this: You can clearly notice the difference on the stairs, ground and walls.
Here is a huge difference.........both on the same settings for an equal comparison....You dont even need to ask which is dx7 and 9....I hope
Lol who knows but i bet ur right lol.......mozilla doesnt let me view them. Anyway Itd be nice if everyone could run dx9, IMO
U will notice the difference between 50 and 80 fps! if ur a pro gamer... and tennisboy, you have to make an autoexec.cfg open notepad and put al ur commands in it like this: some commands: seta cg_drawfps 1 seta com_hunkmegs 512 seta m_pitch 0.05 seta r_aasamples 0 seta r_aaAlpha 1 seta r_glow 0 seta r_dlightlimit 2 seta sys_SSE 1 seta r_gpuSync 0 seta r_anisotropy 2 seta r_autopriority 1 seta r_multigpu 1 seta cg_brass 0 seta r_lodbias -1000 seta r_lodscale 1 seta r_dlightlimit 8 seta r_skinCache 1 seta sv_framerate_smoothing 1 seta r_displayrefresh 5 Create a new text file in your \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\main directory, and rename it to autoexec.cfg (not autoexec.cfg.txt). Now you can add custom commands and key bindings to this file, and they will not be overwritten or altered by the game engine. However, unlike most games using .cfg files, Call of Duty 2 doesn't automatically run the autoexec.cfg file, regardless of where it is placed in the COD 2 directory structure. So to have it run automatically each time you launch COD 2, you must place it in the directory above, and you will need to add "+exec autoexec.cfg" (without quotes) to your relevant COD 2's launch icon Target box (See Command Line/Target Box below). This works for either multiplayer or singleplayer. In fact you may want to have separate autoexec_sp.cfg and autoexec_mp.cfg files, and execute the relevant one when launching singleplayer or multiplayer. Another place to enter command is in your Call of Duty 2 launch icon's Target box. You can access this by going to the desktop icon you use to launch COD2, right-clicking on it and selecting Properties, then in the properties box which opens, look at the 'Target' box. You should see something like this (the value shown below is for launching singleplayer COD2): "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" Your path may vary, depending on where you installed the game - that's fine, don't edit the path text inside the quotes; add commands at the end of this line to force Call of Duty 2 to do various things at launch. All you need to do is insert a space to separate each command, and insert the words +set in front of the command. For example, to skip the startup movies (com_introplayed 1) and automatically execute a custom .cfg file (exec autoexec.cfg) the target box should look similar to this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" +set com_introplayed 1 +exec autoexec.cfg Note that the first command lies outside the quote marks ("") and is one space away from the last " mark. For each additional command, make sure there is a single space between it and the previous character in the box. Most commands can be inserted into the Target box in this way, however this is best used for options which need to be implemented at launch time for the game, such as removing the intro movie, setting memory sizes, altering resolutions, etc. Also keep in mind that if you want to apply custom tweaks to COD 2 multiplayer, you need to do the same thing for the COD 2 Multiplayer launch icon. You probably want this for MP so the line will be like this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2MP_s.exe" +exec autoexec.cfg good luck!
In the Config, you have to enter all the quotes around each value right? and do you just copy and paste that square symbol thing between each?....and last of alll do you have to put it at the very end? EDIT: maybe im thinking about something else..........for that list you dont need any quotations or anything? why do u make a new one? isnt that your autoexec.cfg? thats where i get lost. This doesnt work because if i type /exec autoexec.cfg in the console it says "couldnt load autoexec.cfg" errmmm its called copy and paste
as far as i know you dont need the quotes and no its not my autoexec.cfg, i just wrote down some cmd's with some values. Check tweakguides.com for all the commands.
I take it some of those are random values by the sounds of it...... So i can just right them down in a huge list....nothing in bewteen like cg_blahblah r_blahblah lol vertically?........and dont u need to include a "/" infront of all those for multiplayer.
