COD 4 Release?

i picked it up today at best buy woot!! i love it so far didnt play mp yet but reviews said its the SH$#!!!

I'm not to bothered about it. I've always Call of Duty's to be too linear and a little boring.

I went to a few shops, out of 4, 1 had it but cant sell it till friday. STUPID :bash:

 

holy effin shait... this is one nice night to have usenet access.

although i'll have to pick up either cod4 or ut3 for its multiplayer... the way it's looking CoD 4 is going to be it, the multi is a bit deeper.

besides, I get owned in UT online matches anyways.

 

COD4 is amazing so far.

I even get to kill neo *****'s

 

UT3 seems and feels like the same ol same ol type of games. After you've played all the quakes, all the HL2's, hard for me to justify money on UT3. I do like TF2 though.

COD4 is installing now.

 

All settings maxed, 4x AA and it runs at constant 60 FPS looking very good.

Eat that crysis.

 

picked my copy up from GameStop this morning before work. just got home and i'm installing it now. GOD does it have one long install.

 

I actually found the multiplayer to be pretty good. For DX9 graphics the game looks really good and is a perfect example why DX9 is far from being surpassed by DX10. DX10 is good and all but the performance sucks.

Game is a must buy if you like the series.

 

*sigh*.... again with the saying DX10 performance sucks.....

1) we only have... uuh.... ZERO FULL GAMES that have full support for DX10. Crysis is probably not even using all of what DX10 has to offer.... and i'm pretty sure some stuff may have been left out of the demo to cut down on file size

2) Crysis is supposed to perform better in 64-bit.... but that is probably more of a problem with video/system drivers than with the game itself.

3) with points 1 and 2.... saying DX9 is far from being surpassed by DX10 is completely wrong

Now... as for CoD4.... GOD it rocks!

 

Yes, I agree! This game friggin' rocks!!! I have it at 1680x1050, maxed out with 4xAA, and with the Catalyst 7.9's it averages 40+! Only in the most intense scenes does it drop to the low 30's. Dang I wish I didn't have to work at 4:00am tomorrow

 

single player is awesome. Great experience so far. Multiplayer is...intense. Pretty arcadey, but I expected that

 

i'm actually running it at 1920x1200 with everything maxed (odd that half the detail's only go up to Normal though in the main graphics part), 4xAA, and a decent amount of AF, and it seems smooth. haven't checked the framerate. also haven't gotten to any seriously heavy firefights yet.

Hence why i'm HAPPY that Crysis has some hefty requirements requiring you to drop detail. can't stand when games run damn near fully maxed on hardware that's been out for almost a year.
