    I Created an account here to try and get help, keep seeing people with a very similar error, but none of the "fixes" helped. it absolutely refuses to load or something, i'm at a loss, possibly someone here will be able to help.
    1) i unblocked the archive
    2) unzipped it to my second HDD in its own folder ("B:\Programs\CTR 2.1 RC5")
    Folder Layout.png
    3) ran "CTR 2.1.exe" as administrator (SHA-1: 36ACEFB78FC9C67ADC9BBC6B6A660F39D8EA2976)(Size: 970240 bytes)
    4) All of the buttons are greyed out and un-clickable and I experienced the following

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    need a version of RC5 with the pdb files to get additional exception information.

    Don't put dotnet 4 applications on A: or B: drives

    its not the driver letter causing the bundled assemblies not to be read then,

    odd, like i said, I'm at a complete loss.
    I am open to any and all suggestions
    --edit--
    so idk if it helps narrow anything down, but this is my profile screen
    profiles screen.png
    --edit 2--
    could it be a conflict with the "Virtual Machine Platform" or "Windows Subsystem for Linux"?
    i feel like it's a long shot, but i thought i'd ask
    --edit 3--
    it would seem that those were not the issue
    --edit 4--
    I can't seem to get it to run through anything like "CFF Explorer" or "Depends" to find out if somehow I'm missing a dependency somewhere, it only shows it's self as a dependency. maybe someone smarter than my butt will see what i'm doing wrong, if anything
    CFF Explorer Dependency Walker.png
    Depends Pre-Profiling.png
    Depends Post-Profiling and Hang.png
    --edit 5--
    i find it doubtful, but could secure boot being enabled be the culprit?
    --edit 6--
    wrong again, ffs
    --edit 7--
    going to try uninstalling the optional "Feature Update 20H2"
    --edit 8--
    a swing, and a miss...

    Can I run this tool on legacy bios? I unfortunately at the time didn't know it was set to legacy on w10 install. Does the mandatory UEFI setting still apply equally the same on legacy?

    so due to increasing instability of an aging windows 10 install, i re-installed from scratch and almost immediately after installing i tried to run CTR and i faced the exact same issue...
    is anyone able to confirm that it DOES in fact work on windows 10 pro?
    specifically "Pro" not "Home".
    Thank you in advance any way the cards may fall.

    Hi, are these BIOS settings still needed with RC5 version? In the latest guide it speak only about VRM settings.

    • Global C-state Control = Enabled
    • Power Supply Idle Control = Low Current Idle
    • CPPC = Enabled
    • CPPC Preferred Cores = Enabled
    Thank you :)
