Man, it´s been since Amiga times that i haven´t play a Civ game! I hope they release a demo so i can see if i like the game because i´m really interested in it.
in about a week my social life will be completely destroyed and i'll die of no sleep, just like with every Civilization game (i still play CIV 4 daily). :wanker:
The game has to have two things, two things that have bugged me about Civ games since day one. 1). The removal of the random factor, an arbitary randomly generated factor that is applied to battle stats and determines the potential outcome of the encounter, it works fine in terms of giving a sense of genuine chance to an under dog but more often than not it works in favour of the AI. 2). Dual era encounters, having tanks getting taken out by archers.... nope just never gonna happen, ever. I don't care how weak the tank HP is it just ain't gonna happen. Their should be a stacked add on value for encounters between era units. The greater the number of eras the greater the stacked value. Yes Civ 4 tried to get round this by giving advanced era units much higer HP values but the stat should be applied to the units attack and defence values rather than it's HP so that even a HP weakened Tank for example stands a high chance of beating an Archer with full HP
1000% agree. I can't even explain the rage I felt in civ 4 when some rando foot soldier or archer fortified can withstand wave after wave of attacks.. totally ludicris.
Guys do u recommend this game to me? this is not a age of empire yes? i hate AOE..this ids turnbased as i see..hmm..never played before.
It's not age of empires at all, far less units to go around, and its turn based Get the demo first, then see fromt here
This happened to me when I first played Civ 4. I stayed up for days playing Marathon games. But then I regained self control lol. I can't stand how in Civ 4, a AH-1 Cobra gunship from the modern era will ALWAYS lose against a Longbowman garrisoned in a city. It's retarded.
You haven't watched the few days old gameplay videos where the guys play Civ V and tell about it? Regarding your points: 1. Random stuff is out of the game 2. The devs said "while there's certain amount of dice rolling in combat, it's mathematically impossible for a spearman to kill a tank now"
