Yeah I was wondering that, too! My bet is, that he isn't the real Peter Molyneux. Why would a legendary game designer be discussing Dragon Age and Civ5 with normal ppl ??

Perhaps because he is actually a human being like you and me :)

He IS real, I can just feel it.

    To say something on-topic - can't wait.

I have to say, none of the Civilization games have ever been as much fun to me as Test of Time was. A lot of that though is due to it being far more varied in gameplay with the sci-fi and fantasy modes with multiple interacting worlds. In fact, I can't think of another game like that. That said, I look forward to Civilization V. Hexagonal movement patterns should make it a bit more interesting.

no it is not a sarcastic post.

Bored with your life? Imitate someone else!
Don't have any friends? Make enemies!
Failed at life? Pretend you are someone who didn't!

right, enough with Peter Molyneaux etc, let's get back to topic. ;)

about Civ, i really never liked it for the combat, but mostly because of the various ways you can win the game, i try to win often without engaging in a single fight unless i'm willing to lose sleep since the "one more turn" is just too hard to resist.

i'm not sure how the hexagonal will work in the new game, i'm guessing it might improve the gameplay (hopefully).

Hexagons will greatly restrict troop movements 6 adjacency's instead of 9.

It will likely greatly reduce the use of dotmaps in city placement though.

Well, let's think of exploring. In Civ 4 if you moved directly north, you normally revealed 5 tiles. When moving diagonal you revealed 3 tiles. With hexes you will always normally reveal three hexes, regardless of the direction of movement.

Peter once fell and hit his head on the sidewalk; experiance spheres came out.

    He's not human.

(BTW, sounds like Keith David at the beginning of the video; the guy who voices Captain Anderson from Mass Effect. Such an awesome voice :))

i just found out that apparently the game engine will support DirectX11 for improved graphics, hope they implement Tessellation cause it would improve the terrain for sure. :D

Why would you not like better and more detailed graphics on top of improved gameplay? No lose situation surely. :)

For me the gfx have been adequate since Civ III. So I don't care about them anymore. Sure, if they're better, it's a nice bonus.

I'm hoping on this edition the graphics help lend to more engaging combat mechanics - they show more men in the units etc.

Combat is radically different in this one, no unit stacks and resources only support a limited number of units.

I'm just glad the AI won't be boringly simple unlike Civ Revolution, which was as ridiculous as, peace treaty for 10 turns, demand something for more peace, if you deny then war.
