Wishlisted already. Apparently, it's using Unreal 5, not Unity which could make modding a bit difficult.
It’s not UE at all it’s Unity. This is what happens when you believe YouTubers who have no idea what they’re talking about. https://twitter.com/ColossalOrder/status/1633060715132080130
Loved Cities Skylines, spent about 70 hours with it, but didn't put so much time in it that I got sick of it. This looks neat. I'm ready for another city builder!
So I’ve been watching all the developer diaries and the game is looking phenomenal, a huge step up from 1. What’s clear to me though is that the build in these diaries is using FSR1, from all the smearing going on. I really hope they’re able to add DLSS before release.
Il wait and let it get patched up, Skylines 1 was great but very buggy initially, also if this can't be modded then it means relying in DLC which with SL1 was a bit of a rip off with some of the releases.
Paradox Interactive has raised the PC system requirements of Cities Skylines 2 https://www.dsogaming.com/news/para...-pc-system-requirements-of-cities-skylines-2/
https://www.pcgamer.com/cities-skyl...-have-not-achieved-the-benchmark-we-targeted/ Guess I'll wait for reviews then. I hope it's not a conplete mess and I do appreciate the honesty of the devs.
The problem with reviews of this type of game are that the review invests almost no time in the actual gameplay. Titles like this take time to get into and in my view improve the more time you put in as you discover the intricacies of the gameplay.
This is true and I should have probably phrased it differently in that I'll wait for honest impressions from actual gamers with regards to how the game performs. I think the embargo lifts today so creators who have been given early access can start posting videos etc.
Well it looks like the reviews are out and performance is extremely bad. The common thread I’m seeing here is good game, terrible performance. I don’t know why I got my hopes up and thought it could be otherwise…seems no game is immune except Spider-mans. According to Infrastructurist, lowering the LOD setting to low can get an extra 15ish fps without much visual difference.
God daymn! Thats a pass for now then. Looks like they learnt not a whole lot about the linitations of the original engine. Guess I'll wait for Sim City 6 (?)
I’ll update with my own performance experience next Tuesday, since I preordered this to get a good deal on the deluxe edition. I’m running a 5900x and 3080 and I will install it on a gen4 Nvme to see if that makes a difference.
