I run my system and cinebench only detects my 1700 as 4 core 8 threads in test. Any idea why? Shouldn't it be 8 cores 16 threads? Does same thing for a fx8320 also that i am testing. Any help would be appreciated.

8320 is a 4c/8t but 1700 is 8c/16t indeed. It could be a bug. What does score say?

Assuming we’re talking about Ryzen here?

If you have Ryzen Master installed then make sure Game Mode is disabled, it disables half the CPU cores in older versions, not sure if it still behaves that way in newer builds. This mode is only meant to be used on Threadripper CPU’s.

You are definitely getting lower score. You should be getting double that.

Disable game mode and check your bios settings.

I’m not that familiar with MSI motherboards but @chispy seems very knowledgeable when it comes to AMD hardware so he might be able to give you some good advice :)

look in your msconfig for a limit on cpu cores.

Well i got it running finally on all 8 cores. Not sure what i did but it worked. Scored 2826 with programs running in the background. Alot better then previous score and nice to see all my cores being used.
